Has anyone ever done this? What was your experience like? What can I expect? And was successful in your eyes?

My fiance and I have had some problems lately and have decided that we would try counseling to see if we can get to the root of the problem so that we can get married or if this is not a relationship that we should continue with.

Hi....the board is pretty slow on the weekends, but stick around and you'll get a lot of fabulous advice/first hand stories.

I did marriage counseling which lead into my individual counseling with the same counselor. Marriage counseling/couples counseling only works when both people are committed to putting in the work....in my case, my XH wasn't.

I really commend you both for putting the brakes on and working on things before getting married. I think one of the running themes around here is people ignoring that little voice that said "hmmm, something is not right here".
