DS2's geneticist doesn't know much about his diagnosis but is a big researcher, speaker, advocate for mito disorders and the genetics of autism. He has done a lot of research and published about supplements to help with the symptoms.
While DS2 doesn't have autism, some of his symptoms will be similar. We are discussing starting creatine for low tone and the dr said they have also seen results with other things for focus.
Are you familiar with any of this or heard of people doing it? I am hardly a natural healing kind of person and this is making sense to me. I just wanted to hear other's perspective.

We have not done creatine as dd has seizures and it's not recommended. We currently do an autism specific multivitamin, cod liver oil, probiotics, B6, iron, d3, carnosine, and Niacinamide. It's certainly not the difference between autism/no autism but we definitely see improvements in focus, energy levels and less social anxiety. She's made awesome gains (think nonverbal to conversational speech and aloof to having a friend her age) and while I credit her amazing team I think having the proper nutrition made her start to make gains from therapy that she didn't prior.
You should page mcribster on the special needs board. She's an awesome resource if you want to attempt that route.

Great info, thank you.
I definitely don't think it will cure anything but I think if he had more energy and focus it would help with tone and pressure on lungs. Good to know about creatine and seizures. His disease can cause seizures and he's already having some cataplexy so that may not be a good fit.
