So in the movie, Harley was a psych doctor? I've been reading some things and I'm thoroughly confused. I thought she was a lot younger for some reason.
Arrow, which is DC universe TV has their own suicide squad too. But the only person on that that isin the movie is Deadshot. And they've had Boomerang guy and Katana but not on Task Force X. And Amanda Waller runs it all.

I don't read the comics, but according to the recent arkham games, Harley was partially in charge of joker at the asylum. So when she was interviewing him during her shifts, she fell for him and his shtick and became his sidekick.

The DC television verse is different then the DCEU (DC Extended Universe).
Starting with Man of Steel, all DC movies going forward are related. Affleck will be the Bat in Superman v Batman and Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad is populated with mostly Batman villains though there is some cross over between villains and other DC characters.
The Wonder Woman movie, Aquaman movie, and Flash movie will all take place in the DCEU and will reuse all the actors from previous movies. There will also be a Justice League movie with all the big names just like Avengers.
The DC television universe also crosses over with itself, but so far, never with the movies. Which is a bummer to some fans who want to see those actors on the big screen.
However, there are rumors we will get a Robin or Nightwing at some point which could potentially reduce DC's reliance on Ben. However, they're laying a lot of their property at Affleck's feet. He's directing and producing and starring in the next standalone Batman (standalone in the idea that it is a Batman movie, but it will still cross over with the DCEU just like a Captain America movie crossed over the MCU).
I think they need to see how Batfleck does before casting him across several movies.
Personally I am just waitibg for Black Panther. And if they do a full length Storm film and they don't recast Ororo Munroe/Storm I am going to lose my shit. I am already kinda salty that Idris isnt T'Challa even though I get it so DO NOT LET HALLE FUCK UP STORM MARVEL!!!! >:0(
Storm has been recast for the new XMen Apocalypse movie, it's a young actress named Alexandra Shipp. The XMen are "owned" by Fox though and aren't part of the Marvel Studio Universe. Idris is already part of the Marvel Universe as Heimdall in the Thor movies and while I think he was a bit wasted in that role i'm thinking he was probably too old to play Black Panther. I think Chadwick Boseman will make a good Black Panther and am really looking forward to that movie. Actually im a sucker for pretty much everything with Marvel in the title.

Fun fact H wanted me to relay after he read this thread. Harley Quinn did not originate from the comics. She was created as a sidekick for Joker in Batman: the animated series. Fans loved her so much she was introduced in the comics. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the voice of Joker, Mark Hamill, is the best joker of all time per H. I don't really have a dog in that fight.

Our husbands would get along very well. Batman the Animated Series is my H favorite Batman anything and he agrees about Hamill and the voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, is also amazing.

All of this.
H and I are bummed about the DC television universe not crossing into the cinematic universe. I love the actors they've chosen for Arrow and The Flash.
you're missing out. you need more superhero in your life.
I know. Now that I'm out of school I really should catch up.
I recommend watching them in order (well the MCU ones). At least watch Captain America 1st Avenger, The Avengers, and Captain America The Winter Soldier.
Cap is my favorite.
If you were to watch all of the movies (the tv shows fit in somewhere) I think it's IronMan, IronMan 2, Thor, Caplain America The First Avenger (chronologically most of this takes place in the past but the end and the beginning take place in present time), The Avengers, IronMan 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America The Winter Soldier, and Avengers Age of Ultron.
