I know I don't post too much but I feel like I need to share. We lost one of our doggies this morning. He wasn't looking good last night and didn't want to eat. We decided to wait to see how he was doing this morning but he passed away on the way to the vet. He was 10 yrs old and should have had a few good years left. He was our first little boy and we always talked about him wanted to be a real live boy instead of a dog.
Reading more about his symptoms and how he looked last night and how quickly it all happened we think it was bloat which we didn't know too much of until now and too late.
Our kids are handling it like kids. DD is 3 1/2 and doesn't get it much. She just sees mommy and daddy are sad and tries to cheer us up. DS is almost 6 and understands a bit more. Ninja was always his dog in his mind and has sad moments but still doesn't completely grasp it all.
We always thought our girl dog Belle would go first because she was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis about 6 years ago but she's still going strong. So sad for my little guy today.

I am so very sorry. Our family has been through something somewhat similar and I know how shocking and difficult it is to go through such a sudden loss. ((hugs))
I am so sorry. We euthanized our dog this morning after a prolonged illness. It was gut wrenching. It's so difficult to lose a family member either short-term or long term illness.
OP and cohmom I am so sorry for your losses. Losing a pet is very tough, you never forget but it does get easier with time. I hope you both find comfort in knowing they lived a loving life with your family.
I'm so sorry. We lost our 12-year old Lab two weeks ago and it's still so hard to see little reminders of her around the house. Take care of yourselves and love on your other pup while she processes this as well.
