I need hair pats. And maybe advice if anyone has a good strategy.
I do most daycare drop offs. Baby H flips her shit at about half of the drop offs. Like blood curdling screams and running toward the door as I'm leaving. Of course, the other half the time she's happy as a clam.
I know she has fun there. We get pictures throughout the day and she always looks like she's having a blast at pickup. But drop off is killing me. There is NO pattern to her having trouble or not.
What have you guys done to alleviate this (either for the kid or for you)?
She's been in the toddler room for almost 4 months so I don't think I can blame the new room anymore.

This is totally normal behavior. Shit, some days B has a hard time with drop off at age 4. He doesn't scream, but he gets clingy.
Honestly, you just get thru it. I will indulge in extra hugs and snuggles but, ultimately, I have to leave. So I just...walk out. Yeah, it sucks to walk away from your screaming child, but what can you do?
Your DCP should be trying to help, IMO. Either by coming to pick her up or distract/re-direct her. Like this morning S was clinging to me and started to scream when I walked away, so his teacher went to pick him up and show him some books.
*hair pats* I wish I had workable advice. This issue is why I'm thrilled that our schedule works out such that MH does dropoff 98% of the time. even when she does have a clingy day with him (which is rare) he can roll with it. I just cry in my car.

Oh i know it's normal. And her teacher does usually help. We used to have to physically hand her off to prevent a total meltdown every day. Today she was dealing with another screaming kid, though.
I just feel like she should be at the point there its a "sometimes" occurrence rather than a "frequently" occurrence. Maybe I'm expecting too much.
hugs! That stage really sucks . I promise it's just drama for mama.
DS is thisclose to crawling and I am not prepared at all. I have no idea how to best gate him into the living room. Plus he is already going for electrical cords.

Sorry Strawberry, I've got nothing. Both of mine seem to prefer daycare to me. They can sense greater competence, I think.
BoyLiu had a temp of 103 when I picked him up yesterday. He's currently lying pathetically on the sofa watching Bob the Builder (who must die) curled up with his baby and light saber. I'm a little scared to take his temp. The bottoms of his feet were burning when he got up this morning.
I miss my kiddos. I did Face time with them this am and I think that is what did it. I should never have done it. They are having a ball and did not seem fazed but they looked so cute and big!!! But I am heading over to the pool and I don't have to bring toys, watch kiddos and deal with getting out of the pool meltdowns so I guess I will deal.
Still pregnant wawa and I am feeling enormous. Hope you are doing good.

Haha, mesh. She was like that in the baby room. I'd drop her off and she'd just be like "oh, you're still here?" Toddlers is a whole different ball of wax for some reason. I suspect it's because she has this little frenemy there (at least i assume - she's had a couple incidents of being bit, and we're pretty sure she's the perp).

Yup, doing good. my biggest annoyance is people asking me how much longer I have. So small potatoes.
You have your eviction day scheduled, right? I think you just told me this the other day and I already forget.
That would be my other annoyance - my memory is SHIT lately...

I have to brag. Little Murphy'sgal has been amazing this week. Our house is on the market and I inspect her room every morning to make sure it's fit for a visit. She has kept it clean for a full week. And I don't mean half-a$$ clean. I mean bed made, dresser cleared off, drawers pushed in, chair pushed in, everything in.its.place.
I'm so proud of her. She knows our house needs to look good to sell it and is doing her part. She has even been helpful in other parts of the house. I'm so proud of my little lady!

My kid seems to be getting worse by the day. My head is literally going to explode. I think I'll see if we can change his medication again because I'm sort of at a loss. I know he's likely acting out because of the stuff with XH but that doesn't help me at the moment and he doesn't see a psychologist until mid-August. One or both of us is not going to make it that long at this rate.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
