There is no way DH and I could have a joint FB account due to his line of work he works with some ultra conservatives and I wouldn't be able to keep my youth shut.
I don't get the big deal about having a joint facebook? I guess my UO is that I don't give a crap if someone has a joint facebook with the SO or one of their own. I didn't even realize that people hated joint facebook accounts until one of my friends posted a Meme about it. What's the problem?
For the record, we do not have a joint account. H doesn't do FB.
Well, for one it's weird to send a private message to two people. Two, we have mutual friends but we also have a ton of people we don't both know on our friends list. I don't want to see what some person Dh went to high school with is doing. Third, it reeks of "I'm not my own person". It's ok for me to interact with people without my Dh. We don't need to be attached at the hip, share an email and fb to have a healthy relationship.
I think Taylor swift is a fake ass feminist. And I also think she is a master manipulator of the media. She curates this sweet down to earth girl next door image when in reality she is mega rich and doesn't give a shit about the black experience.
I do not understand how everyone doesn't realize she is a real life Regina George.
I don't technically care if someone does a joint fb but I am silently judging and thinking ewwww.
To make my uo even more uo, I don't like or have fb.
How do you know if someone has joint accounts if you don't have an account? Lol
Lol well I was actually thinking of when I had fb and used to be like ewwww lol. But seriously I am half kidding, if people want a lovey dovey couples account-like the one a friend of mine set up with her h-it's all good different strokes!
My best friend from high school just got back in touch with me....through her husband's Facebook account. It's the weirdest thing ever. I also have friends with joint accounts. It's odd and I don't get it.
I have two FB "friends" who have outed that their spouses cheated on them. One actually on FB and one through a private message she sent to me and 100 of her closest friends. They are both now back with their husbands.
I judge the shit out of them. Not for staying with their husbands and working on the marriage I think that's a to each their own thing. But for not being close friends with these ladies I know way too many details of their husbands affairs (one was two years and he paid for an abortion for his mistress). I actually feel bad for their husbands in this. There is no reason the whole world needs to know about their marriage problems. I see these spouses frequently and it's weird.
I had one of my FB "friends" from childhood that's wife did something similar. She hacked into his FB account & posted his status something like "to all the bitches out there you can have Chris he's a lying cheating bastard". Â I was like wow! Â It took him over 24 hours to de-activate his FB account. Â
I mean my husband is a lying cheating bastard but I don't need the entire world to know only a select few, like everyone on here.... but you don't know me IRL so it's different.Â
I agree wth jcm. My H is a lying cheating ass but I don't need or want the world to know.
I have almost hidden people on FB because 90% of their posts are nothing but how much they love their SO.
Also, I absolutely despise the use of n instead of and in any format.
I always wonder who they're trying to convince. Most likely themselves.
My cousin has his settings so every time he likes or replies to something it shows on my newsfeed I swear to you it is 20 times a day his girlfriend is posting about how much she loves him. I mean we get it, people!

I really hope if my feed were doing that people would tell me. So annoying!!
Tffc apparently I'm the controlling one. Dh and I didn't have fb until about 5 years ago and we didn't plan on getting it, but it became apparent we were missing certain social things by not being online. We got it simply to stay in touch with a few specific things. Now I use it 99.9% of the time, but his name is a part of the sn which I actually like bc it makes it borderline impossible for students to find me. Old, technologically inept, controlling...not so much. Although I guess you'll need to define old. I got called a young mom yesterday and I just laughed.
It's your fb. Just take his name off. Lol
you could take his name off and leave the "." it would still be hard for students to find you. #teamnojointFB

My fb is almost exclusively posts about how perfect dd is. Is that more or less annoying than posts about a perfect SO? Lol.
But seriously, the point of social media is to AW. I'd rather see cute pictures/stories of someone's kid than links to the news or whatever. I can find that on my own.

As long as you aren't trying to claim your three week old is using words already you're golden. I have someone like that who says her kid did that along with all these other completely outrageous things. Lol.
I mostly talk about my kids too. Mostly the humorous parts of parenting since those moments are plentiful. I love when people aw their kids. I have a close friend who doesn't share her kid on social media anywhere and it drives me insane! I'm always texting her for pictures. Lol
See I love (some) the article sharing, news/political stuff. I am friend with some pretty smart people (a few of my college professors) and it's cool way to still be learning from them.
I like the kid stuff, too, but I'm glad it's more than that.

I hate Facebook "debates". It is either a bunch of people agreeing with each other or it devolves into nonsense and no one changes their mind. I mean, once in awhile it is interesting but some people post articles 3x a day. You hate your senator. We get it. Let's move on.

I have a friend who I love dearly but she hates Obama and likes to remind everyone almost daily. We agree on almost everything else but she is starting to drive me batty.
