I've lost about 40lbs this year and with fall/winter coming up, I have zero idea how to dress. I am still fairly curvy, and also still losing weight (15lbs to go!).
For spring/summer I rocked some Pencil skirts and cropped pants pretty well, but winter is coming (and fall, my favorite season). Pencil skirts + pumps are fine, but the cropped pants are out. I have a few pairs of black pants that fit, but I want to incorporate some boots and shorter skirts.
However, I've always avoided the jeans+boots look, previously being too conscious of my hips/stomach to give up the balance of boot cut pants. But now that I have a slimmer figure (relatively speaking) I'd love to pick up some more boots and skinnies to wear, of which I own none.
Last night I threw on a pair of boots from last year plus a pair of stretch jeans tucked into those boots to see if I can pull off the look, but I am undecided.
What do you think? Can I pull the look off at all? My one friend says I can, but she was also drunk when she told me that

I absolutely think you can pull this look off, but I think jeans with less fading/whiskering would be more flattering. I prefer darker wash with little fading on pretty much everyone though.

They don't have to be that dark but, yes, along those lines.
Also, I can't quite tell by the picture but are those boots knee high? IMO, boots should either be knee high or ankle, nothing in between. Mid-calf boots hit at the widest point of the calf and are just universally unflattering.
They're just shy of knee-high, and yes, I agree that they should be knee-high. I was just kinda working with what I had lying around before I spent any money.

Congrats on the weight loss! You seriously look amazing - thin but still curvy.
I agree about the height of the boot. These cut you in a spot that makes your calves look thick (and they are not, it's just not a flattering place for the boot to end). I also agree with the darker jean. You can definitely pull of the look with the right jeans and boots!
