My in laws are visiting and while they are helpful, they are very overbearing as well. My MIL provides constant running commentary. To everything. I got a play by play of my cats behavior for the last 2 days. She also really likes to question me on parenting things. P is home with them a and H today and I left my normal 4 bottles plus a backup. She laughed and was like 'no way that's enough a she went through 3 in 4 hours on Saturday!' (Said in a very very loud Bronx accent btw). No lady, it's fine. Don't constantly stick a bottle in her face. Thanks.
Needless to say, I am incredibly thankful to be at work.
DH told DD that we'd be going to Disney World "after" our trip to the obx, meaning in November. Now everyday she wants to know if we're leaving for DW. "No not til Thanksgiving." "What's Thanksgiving?" Lol. I keep forgetting that a 3 yo has barely any concept of time whatsoever
That sounds really annoying @sessalee. How long are they staying? I have 10 days of work, including today, before vacation. I need to get off my phone and do some work this week.
Tomorrow. Thankfully. I mean, they are helpful too, FIL cooks every meal and cleans the kitchen. They are both great with the baby. But I am done

My (almost 16 month old) kid was up 4 times last night. WTH! It was also supposed to be my sleep in day but he only lasted about 40 minutes with H before he was crying at my bedroom door. Why is my kid so needy?

We kind of did the same thing yesterday. We told DD that we were going to the airport. We live close by and we sometimes take her to look at the planes and grab a snack. She got super excited and thought that she was going on a trip. In the end we just took her to the park because she kept asking to visit my parents or in-laws.

Did you finally try ST? I remember that you posted about his sleep a few months ago.

First day of our hodgepodge of babysitters for A while her DC is closed this week. It's our neighbor across the hall today, and A apparently freaked out when DH left. I'd already left for the office so I could get home earlier this afternoon to relieve our neighbor.
This week is going to be very frustrating (and exhausting and overwhelming), for sure.
Omg guys. We went out on a date last night while my parents watched the boys. Margaritas ---> sex for the first time. It was okay during but afterwards I was in so much pain.

We night weaned a couple of months ago and he started sort of STTN (7-4:30ish). He did that for about a month and then he got molars and sleep went to shit again. We just got back from almost a month with my inlaws and when we were there I pretty much nursed him as soon as he started crying so he wouldn't wake everyone up. We now need to do a "grandparent detox". We need to night wean again and I have a feeling it is going to be much harder this time. I'm toying with the idea of just weaning altogether. We shall see.

B finally slept for 4 1/2 hours straight last night, and then was crying an hour after I put him back to bed. The hell, kid? Why must you ruin it? Sigh.
Also, he only gained half a pound in 4 weeks, so we have to bring him back for a weight check in a month. He's up two full pounds from birth, but he gained a pound and a half the first month, so I just feel like we suck at figuring out how much he needs. We're either giving him too much or not enough. He's been doing a combo of BF and FF since the hospital, and I plan on switching him fully to formula before I go back to work. I am secretly relieved we'll actually be able to tell how much he's eating so we can make sure he's on track.
My SIL and her family are here from PA and they came by yesterday. We haven't seen our nieces in years, and they could not have been less interested in us or the baby. They liked the dog, but he hates people so he avoided them the whole time. They're 7 and 8, so I mostly get it but I think my husband is a little sad that we're still just going to be those people who send them presents.
I wish I knew what J was trying to tell me. I just agree and smile. He also sings his abcs all day. Sometimes it's really nice and cute and other times it's angrily.
I'm kinda disappointed that I won't be getting my month paid holiday. I had such grand plans of organizing closets, designing my wedding album, and relaxing on the beach. Though having a secure job is nice too I suppose.

Apparently we are getting a new road today. Our street is filled with dump trucks, diggers, grinders and other equipment I don't know the proper names for. DS1 is in heaven.
DS2 seems fussy today, not sure why. Most likely teeth?.
I love that my kids love DC. My DCP always opens the door at drop off. Today she was changing another kid so I had to open the door. DS got all sad raisin-ed face that she wasn't behind the door. I set him down and he took off running through her house.

My kid has been waking at 11 pm almost every night and I can't get him back to sleep so I end up with him sleeping with me. I'm so tired. I think canines are the problem.
