I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst a week ago. Am going back in 3 weeks to see if it's gone away or shrunk. Iud is still in.

I'm still bleeding. It stopped the day before my last appt so I didn't but started again the day after. This is almost 30 near-consecutive days of bleeding. It's more than a pantiliner can hold and just isn't stopping. It's still mostly bright red with frequent but small clots. I'm also having headaches and occasional nausea which I think can be related to cysts per dr. Google.

I'm not sure what they can do for me since I think bcp is sometimes used to "re-start" a wonky cycle and I can't take bcp due to blood clotting issues.

Would you call?

Yes, and I did ask my family doc about it. She said that it could be related to BFing/weaning but did give me a referral and requisition for a transvaginal ultrasound and follow up with an OBGYN if the same thing happened next month. I've been blood free for about a week now and I really hope it was just a fluke.

I called. They said it's likely normal and to hold on until my next appt. Ugh.

The doc is guessing it's a combination of the mirena (which promotes a thin uterine lining which is prone to breakthrough bleeding) and the cyst (which can cause bleeding).
