DH stayed home yesterday but went to work today. Everything feels thrown off.
My Aunts came over Sunday to meet G and bring gifts. I talked to them and apparently no one knows if my dad is even aware he is a grandpa now. That feels weird.
I have 5 baskets of laundry clean I need to fold, more in the dryer, and instead I'm watching Criminal Minds on Netflix.
We stayed at H's grandparents on our way to Canada since it's a nice resting point. We are about 4 hours until we reach our Canadian destination! YAY! Before we get to my grandparents house we have to stop at the mall to get my passport photos taken so I can renew that on the fly tomorrow. Fun...
@moonbeam We are currently driving through your state and it just dawned on me that sometime when we have more time if you guys aren't to far off our path we could have a GTG sometime in the future
It hasn't rained in 10 days, with temperatures in the 90s. Three years ago there was a drought here that lasted almost two months. I hope it rains this weekend.
My sister was going to paint one wall in her living room sage green for an accent wall but then ended up painting three walls. So now three are green and one is white, but she says she doesn't want to do it because the couch is too heavy to move. I'm trying to convince her that it looks silly this way lol. A white accent wall doesn't really make sense there.
@moonbeam On our way to Canada we are going through Flint/Lansing/port Huron area but on our way back we are going through/by Detroit since we will be in Windsor seeing cousins!

I'm about 1 hour away, so let me know if you are up for it at some point. It would be great to have a GTG!

Cool. I'll be MIA until Saturday evening possibly Sunday when I get internet back. I'll PM you then. The date would be Monday the 3rd if it can work out

travelbug Too bad you're not going to the same Canadian destination as us or we could GTG!
Today I've just been doing laundry and did some shopping for some snacks and drinks to take with us. Starting to put some things together to pack but mostly just making lists for myself, haha. I'm pretty good at packing last minute so I'm not worried!
We also just signed our form letting the apartment people know we're moving out. This is really happening! At least there better not be any bumps, because otherwise we're screwed, haha

I just about had a heart attack. I got home and I had a bunch of stuff to unload from the car to bring up to my apt, so I left 4 bags, a picture and a mop in the lobby (secure building). Go and park the car, take my suitcase, laptop and pocketbook upstairs to the apt. Go back down to get the rest and it is GONE. Cue panicking. (None of the stuff is super valuable, but it's all stuff I want/need!) I look in the stairwell in case someone moved it there, looked outside the front door in case someone was walking down the street with it, called out in case someone was around and had moved it. Nothing. Run the 4 flights upstairs to get my phone and call the building manager (who is awesome). Luckily he's on site right now so we went downstairs and look at the cameras and sure enough, my stuff's there and then it's not. The BSC old lady in apt 1 took all my stuff!
So we go to her apt and instead of apologizing or whatever, she basically starts blaming ME. She's all "well you should NEVER leave anything in the lobby unless you want it to be taken" (um...whatever. People leave stuff there all the time since we have no elevator/no parking....this is how you load/unload from your car). So I said I was upstairs for 3 minutes dropping off my other items and she still keeps going on about NEVER leaving anything there. She starts with some story about how so and so is moving out and they are leaving her stuff to take to the thrift store and she thought this was it (really? 75% of the stuff in the bags is brand new food/cleaning supplies, you really think that's going to the thrift store?)
Anyway, she couldn't have had my stuff more than 5 minutes and she managed to completely go through it all...she even ripped open my bag of dirty laundry and took it out. I had a lot of plastic bags of stuff then inside other fabric bags for carrying and she had just about dumped everything out of the bags and rearranged it. WTF lady! It took her forever to get my stuff back out of her apt and the whole time her attitude was that this was MY fault. Then she gives me what I think is all of the stuff out of the bags and acts like she's done and I'm all um, picture and mop?
I THINK I have everything back, but I'm pissed. I understand accidents happen but it was her attitude that got me, that it was my fault and she was entitled to the stuff because it was in the lobby. Uh, no. So now she's on my shit list. I know where she lives.
Thank goodness my property manager was here or I would have had to call the cops I guess.
I called on Friday to have someone come out and look at our washer. I called LG and trey made me an appointment with the local tech. He came and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He instructed me to run a load and show him when the horrible noise happens. He leaves to run some errands as it makes the noise at the very end of the cycle. So he comes back and he hears the noise. I need a new master panel (or something like that.) and a new drum. :/ of course my warranty ran out 6 months ago. BUT when I made the appointment on Friday LG offered me the option to pay them $165+tax right then over the phone or chance the $100 inspection fee plus parts and labour. I decided that the $165 sounded better, just in case, and holy F am I glad now. Who knows how much those parts plus labour would cost.
Update: I survived the hot car ride, and am now at my sister's house, and her AC in her house is not working. It's 87 downstairs, and 90 upstairs where I'm supposed to sleep.

OMG I am going to cry with you. That sounds miserable.

I was planning on leaving at 6am to drive the 9 hours home, but I am seriously contemplating driving overnight. I don't handle heat well!

The good:
C had his first good day on a two nap schedule, had fun at baby story time at the library, heading to swim lessons soon, and I am down to my wedding weight (9 lbs less than pre-pg weight)!
Is there anyway you can reconsider moving a little bit earlier? I know it's not fair that YOU should have to change your plans but I'd just want to get away from it.
luv2rn4fun that is so frustrating. Can you look into moving sooner? That sucks though too because it's your home and these jerks are making you feel uncomfortable. I hope things calm down!

it's always an option. I'm kind of waiting for my mom to make the first move and DH was hoping to stay 1-2 more years. He's looking at listings online every day but hasn't seen anything we love (and if we're going to spend $600k+ and go into debt we better love it). But this situation will only get worse...makes me sick . I know we caused a lot because we called code but they were out all hours and late on weeknights...they are so inconsiderate of everyone and something had to be done. He does all the work (and revs engines constantly) in his backyard right next to our house.
bk1- I literally prayed so genuinely when C went down for his second nap and he slept 75 min! Now that we have swim he has to only do two naps and an early bedtime so I was hoping today would be better than yesterday and it was! Hope G is continuing to do well with her naps!!
HoneySpider that's crap. She is old, because I would never think to take something from the lobby and assume it's fair game. Now, if it sat there for a week and was in the way for that time, then maybe. I'm glad you got all of your stuff back.
