DO your kids fit their water bottle in their lunchbox? DD starts kindergarten this fall and her lunchbox doesn't seem big enough to fit her water bottle and a bento box. Anyone have a good option? I don't want her to forget to take it to lunch if she leaves it in her book bag. Am I way over thinking this?

Ours does not fit in the lunchbox. It goes on a pocket on the outside of the backpack. I'd see if her forgetting is an actual problem before I worried about a solution.
No. I either put in the side pocket of their backpack or I've clipped it to the lunch box. They take nalgene bottle where the lid also acts like a handle.
DD has access to her water bottle all day in the classroom, so there's no need to out it in her lunch box. It goes in a pocket of her backpack to get to school and her lunch box clips onto the backpack as well. This has been our system through all of K and all of first grade. She starts 2nd grade next month.
Thank you all for the responses. I didn't even consider that they would have water with them all day. Her book bag does have a holder on the outside so ill try that and see if she's ok with remembering.

Nope. There's a pocket on the side of the girls' lunch boxes specifically for the water bottle. It didn't fit in the preschool cubbies with the water bottle so they usually just kept them in a side pocket of their backpack.
We're not allowed to send water bottles to school. They get water with their snacks and from the fountain at bathroom breaks, and they get a milk carton with lunch.
My kids have neoprene lunch bags I bought on amazon. They're a great size, come in lots of different design choices, and easy to clean. A thermos and/or bottle of water easily fits in them.
