Mine: This is totally vain, (this won't surprise you coming from me) but I am getting eyelash extensions today. They are $100 off the initial application, so I am finally going for it. This means no more Latisse and no more expensive mascara, so it might even out in the end.

Meh. As long as it makes you happy. Personally, I wouldn't spend my money on it, but I'm sure many people here would judge me for tanning.
Sounds like H and I are going to call off our fall vacation. Between me hiring 2 new people, moving offices (in Sept? Oct? We don't know), H applying for new jobs, work events, etc, we just can't find a good time to go. BUT I get to go to a conference in Chicago at the end of October, so H is coming with me and we're going to stay a couple extra days. Yay!

This is first weekend in the past 6 weeks that I will spend at home. I am happy I don't have to do laundry tonight, pack and shop tomorrow, but now I'm like "What do I do with my time!?"
We are putting an offer in on a lot today! Then we will eventually need to decide on a builder, but at least our lot won't sell while we take our time deciding and all the pressure will be off!
sapphire bou Yay for Chicago! What do the 2 of you have planned?
I'm pretty excited! I just got the okay, so I haven't even booked the hotel to know where I'm staying or done any research. But we're for sure going to see the bean! I'd love some recommendations.
The only classes in my program that are being offered in the Fall semester are one I've already taken and one elective I don't want to take. I can't decide whether it's better to just take the class I don't want so I stay on schedule to complete my program, or take a semester off.

B.R.E.
I just offered a job to someone and she dropped a bomb on me... she's pregnant. I'm happy for her and I still want her to take the job and I don't have any problem with her taking 6+ weeks off in March, BUT I'm afraid that she won't take the job because she will have to take leave without pay since she won't have accumulated enough time AND because her husband is in an industry that does frequent layoffs and there is already talk of it with the company he works for. (excuse the huge run-on sentence)

I am loving summer vacation. This week we did SUP and went to the pool. I have to work tomorrow, but probably only a half day since it will be raining in the afternoon.

UGH! I really hope she accepts our offer!
I'm really surprised she would throw it out there when she's not that far along. I mean, legally you can't discriminate but I'm sure some employers still do. For your sake I hope she takes it too.
It's a financial concern for her. If her husband happens to get laid off before then, there's a chance they won't have any income for that month... plus a new kid on top of the one they already have.
BUT I just gave her some news that I hope will convince her to accept our offer. We got approval to allow her to work from home (if she's up for it) after birth, so she won't have to take as many days of leave without pay. YAY! Fingers-crossed that she accepts!

Can I have a baby in March and work for you instead?
