Thought catalog is the fucking worst. They'll have one writer who writes an article like this, and then another writer who will take this article and quote it and then write the total opposite, except I've never actually seen a well-written article on Thought Catalog. It's basically bad blogging.
Have kids, don't have kids. I don't think any more or less of someone who doesn't have them. What do I care? Good for you for going against mainstream and realizing it was something you didn't want and staying the course.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Thought Catalog is borderline clickbait. They make their money on half-assed blogs like this with shitty writing on controversial topics. I'd almost prefer to support (racist, misogynist, asshole) Matt Walsh - at least he doesn't hide his crap behind a veneer of journalism.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

I know nothing about Thought Catalogue. This is the first time I have seen it. It WAS posted by a girl who also thinks ANYONE who would EVER want a girls night out without their husband must have a terrible marriage because she would NEVER want to go ANYWHERE without her husband. I only keep her around for the humor I get out of her posts. She obviously thinks I have a terrible marriage and unfulfilled life. I think her husband is controlling and she is miserable, but prefers to bury her head in the sand and act like she WANTS this life.
"I didn’t stop wanting all the things I had wanted pre-pregnancy – in fact, I wanted them much more intensely, and suddenly had renewed drive and clarity about going after them." I imagine this is probably quite true about that trip we're hoping to take to Thailand, Africa, etc. LOL
Just some of the GEMS that Thought Catalog has put out recently - no links because fuck them - but easily googled
"When is it ok to hit a woman?" "Hey Ladies! Short Hair is Rape" and then their counter argument (for twice the fucking traffic) "No, Short Hair Is Not Literally Rape, You F#cking Idiots"
Also check this out from Huff Post (the pinnacle of journalism )

Oh I wasn't calling you out - I'm far too lurkerish for that! Just I have quite the hatred for Thought Catalog.

I feel the same for "The Blaze." I will avoid this website too, now.
This is from the Donald Trump school of writing. Just say all kinds of offensive bullshit to get people interested and back up your statements with more bullshit...

LOL whatever (to the author)
The PPs who commented on how this is just clickbait are right. It's just like that fucking Matt Walsh or whatever his name is. They purposely write headlines that they know will incense and offend people to get them to read it. It's such drivel.
I don't doubt for a second there are (unfortunately) people out there who feel this way. But at least before mommy blogging became a thing (because this is no journalistic article, but really more a blog), at least their drivel wasn't out there for everyone to read.
ETA: And to be clear, I am not saying anything against posting it or tearing it apart lol. Just that I hope no one truly takes it to heart or feels badly by reading this shit.
I am so.fucking.sick. of the deification of children.
I agree and I feel like this is something new, as in the past generation or so. Isn't it? This idea that not only should one have kids, but ever fiber of your happiness should come from being a parent.
I'm 43 with no kids. I always said I would have been a rockstar mom in the 70s. Even the 80s. Maybe I was neglected but my parents' lives didn't revolve around us like parents do today. 70s mom. Yeah I could totally have done that. Millennial mom? No thanks.
I actually give hats off to you moms today. Between facebook and mommy bloggers, what qualifies as being a good parent is leagues above what it was decades ago. When I was a kid, as long as we were alive by the end of the day, all was good.
