Well, night one of no swaddle actually went pretty well. I think DH had a rough time around midnight and getting him to bed was hard, but the rest of the night was pretty good. Of course, I couldn't get him back to sleep after he woke up at 5:30, so he's in there screeching and talking to himself now. Lol
My boss is out today, so I plan to head out right at 11. MIL suggested I use the massage gift card she got me this afternoon. I hope they have an opening. 80 minutes of massage, no talking, and no baby? Yes, please!
These little boys are charmers. Lovely, dirty, smelly little charmers
You know, I completely bought whole business about gender stereotypes being a social construct blah blah blah....buy boys, man.
My sister likes to tell the story of how she tried so, so hard to steer away from gender traditions for her boys (twins) and they had their own Barbies at 8 or 9 or so. She was so proud ... until she watched them bend the legs into right angles, and made guns out of their Barbie dolls.
I have a cold, and am blaming a combo of my super early flight on Monday, my extra time in O'Hare with flight delays on Tuesday, and the actual airplane travel. I seem to always get sick on quick trips. I'm WFH today, and hoping I feel better soon. I don't want to be sick all weekend.

You guys went with your H being on duty till 1, right? How is that going so far? I hope the uninterrupted sleep is helping!
Today is going to be an awesome day. I'm caught up at work so plan to work a half day and then go get my nails done, do some grocery shopping and come home to finish some light housecleaning. Tonight we have a movie at the lake with pretty much everyone we know. It's going to be a great day!

I woke up this morning and looked at the baby monitor and it must have glitched or something because it showed a picture of an empty crib from yesterday. I jumped out of bed and ran to my ds's room with my heart pounding. He was still sleeping soundly. It scared the hell out of me.
so glad that you are able to work it out with mortgage company :-) dislike F isn't feeling well. I will be praying that he feels better and that all gets worked out with your house xo
Last night DH and I were figuring out when to go visit son. He kept picking my birthday weekend and I said I didn't want to go o my birthday weekend. He continues to look at hotels for that weekend. Finally I point to the date and say "that is my birthday weekend" and the look that came over him was priceless. He was confusing the date of my b-day with the date of our anniversary!
Several times since that conversation I have asked him when my birthday was. Fortunately for him, he answered correctly.
The pediatrician said we could give L a dose of Benadryl last night for her bee sting, so we did, and she still woke up at midnight and ended up in our room. lol. Nothing will ever make this child sleep from the time she's put down until it's time to get up in the morning (not that I was counting on it, cough). Her face looks great today, though - you can't even tell anything happened except for a tiny dot by her eyebrow where the bee got her.
The entire time I was putting L in her car seat this morning, a goose was standing in the parking lot hissing at me (Eagles). I have no idea what I would have done if it had come after me. Probably gotten attacked.
H is off today, so we are taking the monster on a little road trip to a state park we've never been to before. It supposedly has a lot of creeks and things and I think she will love wading in them. I'm excited!
Add me to the list of "was totally freaked out at the prospect of raising a boy" posters, but I really wouldn't change mine for the world. Just prepare yourself for fart humor. So much fart humor.
I had a really lovely dinner last night with an old friend, but am draaaaaagging this morning.
The funniest part of this to me is that I have never, ever been one for bathroom humor. I really hate it. Since having DS, I have laughed I don't even know how many times when he farts or poops audibly and when he pees in the bath on me or himself. It's like a switch flipped.

Yes. It's going really well. It's been amazing to go to bed and know I don't have to get up until at least 1. It's making a huge difference for me physically, emotionally, mentally. And he said he's feeling better about being able to help and is getting better at waking up in the morning with DS after I leave, which has always been really hard for him. He's not a morning person.

My BIL, who is working at the Renaissance Festival and hand sewing his costume (with no sewing experience) has taken the last 2 days off of work to sew and completed a waistband and bottom leg cuffs. I didn't even think about him needing to sew pants. omg
He says he is way behind and doesn't know how he will finish before the deadline but yet won't look on EBay or etsy to find something or ask for resources from coworkers.
Yep that's about how I thought that would go, lol. Thanks for the update
Last day in VA, I'm staying with family and SIL doesn't ever stop talking. Ever. I legit have zero time to even check my phone because she is telling me something. She's talking right now. It is all nonsense. Stories I've heard a million times, anecdotes relating to something on TV. It's endless. I'm waiting for the community pool to open so I can take DS.
Home tomorrow!
ETA don't even get me started on the 500,000 tiny toys that are boring and the kids don't play with but they dump them on the floor just for shits. Get rid of this junk! Who needs this many toys?!
I got into it with my sister last weekend, and it ended with her yelling that I'm dead to her and she no longer has a sister. She does this every couple years and I am just done with the drama. I don't really care about my relationship with her, but my kid loves his cousins so much and it sucks that we won't see them for a while. This is also straining my relationship with my parents because they enable her behavior. Ugh... I just don't really know where to go from here.

Always trust ML. Thanks for asking!
I'm so glad to hear this!! (Also lol at being ecstatic that you get to sleep till 1am. It seriously is the twilight zone! lol. But you're doing an awesome job!!)

I have two girls...And there is an insane amount of fart humor in my house. I don't know where I went wrong, lol.
Something about the "Moms of boys" stuff always rubs me the wrong way. I was way more trouble, way louder, dirtier, blahblahblah than my brother ever was! Moms of girls still have kids who bring in frogs and make mudpies, dude.
I swear, the worst part about being an adult is that every shitty thing happens at once.
So true. And it all seems to fucking hit at once. We're TTTC but can't afford treatments at this time, baby sister has an oops!lol, new more expensive house, H's job search isn't going well, and my boss has shit on me, leaving me stuck side-by-side by a psycho for the next five years. Means I have to switch districts, which can't happen for this school year seeing how it starts in two weeks.
