I've been using Microsoft Money for years (since college when I got my checking account) as a check register. I have a learning disability, so having the computer help me do the math to balance my check book and keep my money straight is a lifesaver for me. Money just crashed and Microsoft apparantly doesn't make it/support it anymore. I was thinking of getting Quicken, but I know a lot of you use Mint to help you budget. Can I use Mint as an electronic check book register and just enter the checks I write, purchases I make with my debit card and Mint will update them as reconciled when they hit my account?

Thank you! I'll probably need to get quicken then, I have my own goofy way of keeping my money straight that's worked all these years, and I'm afraid to mess with it. Not being able to keep track of checks and such will not be good for me.
You can manually add transactions. There's a button on my app do I'm sure there's something similar on the regular website. I'm not sure though about how it works when the actual transaction comes through (if it will recognize it or it it would show duplicate). Check out the website, I bet they have a virtual tour with explanations about how everything works. But it for sure wouldn't show transactions until they post, although it does show transactions as pending pretty quickly.
