Ha! Someone commented on my twins when we were out in the double jogger. They're 2.5 years apart. People are weird.
I saw two boys wrestling in a double stroller today and thought for a moment they were twins. I would not have asked the mom, but I remembered on here how people get frustrated when the public asks stupid questions when the kids are obviously twins/not twins. The only way I realized they weren't is because the older one had lost some of his lower baby teeth. Later I saw the dad had the two kids out and they definitely weren't, but it wasn't so obvious in the stroller.
I wear DD out in the Tula often now. People usually guess correctly, between 1.5 and 2 years.
Sometimes people just don't know what to say. One of my neighbors, who has a 4 and 1.5 year old, commented on how big DD is. I just politely smiled but in my head thought, "She weighs 24 pounds at over 2.5! Pretty sure she weighs less than your 1.5 year old. She's anything but big for her age!"
the other day i was at a fabric store with L, and she was talking up a storm as usual. she has reached parrot stage and mimics everything she hears someone else saying. it's actually kind of embarrassing sometimes. she mimics babies crying, or kids having tantrums yelling "mommy!" or even kids going "i have to go to the bathroom!"
instead of saying "wow she talks so much!" this lady asked me if my baby was 3 years old lol i mean, she has a lot of hair, but she's so small!
i think most people have no idea what to say about babies and kids.
Ha! I'm amazed the rare time people guess younger because my kids were always big for their age (except DD4). People asked if my blond pasty white sister was twins with my black 9mo old brother when they were kids. Now I know that **can** happen but back in the 1980s we always got a giggle from that question.
