They're so cute on others. Any recommendations for super flattering ones for someone who hates and very much wants to hide stomach/hips/thighs? Also, must have a back that allows a strapless bra. Black or cool colors preferred.
Thanks for any help!
Update: the first one arrived and it is too early to decide which romper(s) will be the winner (there are a lot of contestants) but oh my god it is so comfortable and makes me want to never again wear anything that isn't a romper.
I don't know your body type but I am curvy and I've tried on a few and just can't seem to get them to work right. If they fit my bottom they are way too big in the top. If they fit the top, they are too tight on the bottom.
Jlo had one at Kohl's I thought about trying (I seem to do well with her clothes) but it is long sleeve and I wanted a sleeveless one.
I have to know, how to you pee? Do you have to full strip or is there a trick?
I'll admit, this *is* something I'm concerned about. I have a small bladder. Was out with a friend yesterday who was wearing a romper and she swore it wasn't that much of a production. We'll see.
I've ordered 6 rompers since I posted this :/ The F21 one Stan posted, and others from Target and Nordstrom. Old Navy seems to have a bunch of cute ones but they're sold out online. If I can bring myself to go to 34th Street tomorrow, I may try a few others.
I should mention, I spent the evening in hipster heaven (Bushwick and Williamsburg) which is where this sudden urge is coming from. We'll see.
v - I'm a small bladder person, too. And o just have visions of basically sitting there naked in a public restroom. Ummm. No. But I am absolutely not the body type, so it's not like I'd really consider it.
I love rompers. I pee very frequently. I only have issues w/ one that's more structured and has a zipper all the way up the back.Drapey knit fabrics are easy to pull down.
also, you can absolutely wear rompers past 25. I like them well into your 40s and 50s when styled properly.
I think I'm too late to play, but I like these nordstrom options so I'll share anyways.

LOL I love how v didn't actually ask if she SHOULD wear a romper, rather asked for help choosing one, and yet we all have an opinion about whether she can wear one.
Ooh, I like jenny1980's suggestions. I may buy the black and white striped one
The last one, too. They look like separates, which is why I like them.
I'm not into fashion, so it's absolutely possible I'm wrong. But I think it's just as likely that we will be all "wtf were we thinking?" 10 years from now.
I'm looking for something casual and comfortable for super hot days that won't expose my underwear when I walk over a subway grate or catch a breeze off the river. Rompers seem to fit the bill because they have a lot less fabric than regular shorts. I'm not looking to make some grand fashion statement. I doubt I'll be thinking much in 2025 about what I wore a few times in summer 2015/2016, so I'm willing to take the risk. And really -- if wearing glorified pajamas in public is wrong, I don't want to be right.
(Also, there's a very good chance that I'll try on a ton of these and then decide they're all fails on my body, so don't judge too soon!)
The Anthro ones are really cute. Why can't the shipping be cheaper???

That always happens, regardless. If people are comfortable in their clothes and enjoy wearing them, who cares what you *might* think in 10 years? It's like asking somebody how that tattoo will look on them when they're 70.
I have a loft one. I think its super cute. I worried about looking like a 2 year old but I dont think it looks like that. I get a ton of compliments everytime I wear it. It sucks to pee in but comes off fairly easily. I wouldnt wear it on a night of heavy drinking when I need to pee a lot but its good for hanging out during the day. They dont have my style anymore.
I'm super late, here, but I am 35 and look slammin' in my romper. Just ask jessnpaul, chickens987, and justjen. Mine is this style from loft but it's plain black with black embroidery.
Yes! I was even inspired to try to find one that worked for me, thought I'm not nearly as hot.

I was like, "What could I possibly be tagged about in this thread??" lol. But yes, you do indeed rock the romper
I don't think they look good on anyone over the age of 25. Sorry I'm no help.
Haters gonna hate!
I don't have any rompers because I haven't gone shopping in awhile (wilted) But I have plenty of friends in their 30s that look great in rompers. I mean often times they just look like shorts with a lose/comfortable fitting top.
v I think you're best bet is to just hit up a bunch of stores and try them on until you find one you like. I think rompers are cute!

I had the same thought! And ditto on the slammin' ;-)
I saw a photo of @marshmallows in her romper and she did indeed look lovely and appropriate.
I went to the mall at lunch and neither Anthropologie nor Loft had any of the rompers discussed here -- wahhhhhh. Also, to order 3 rompers from Anthro in two different sizes would cost $15.95. Are they fucking kidding me? (Does anyone know a way to get free shipping from Anthro, btw?)
I should also mention that I ride a bike several times a week, often in dresses that are not ideal for bike riding, so wearing rompers instead may actually be a public service.

Order at the store from an associate (who will call your order in over the phone).

Anthro ships free to the store. I bet if you call and say you were just there they'll do the ship-to-store over the phone for you too.
I picked up a few before my Mexico vacation at Aeropostale. I got one this style in a similar print that I loved. I also love the price as it was not going to be an "investment" wardrobe staple like a suit. I should also add that I am 40 and felt fine wearing it and I have worn them to a few BBQ's since.
