Same here!
I managed to get that blue sticky stuff stuck in so much of my hair (I wanted to see how I'd look with blue hair lol). We had to use ice and peanut butter to try to get it out at home and still had to cut off a bit because that stuff is stubborn! And then got caught "kissing" a boy lol.
I knew a lot of kids still napping in kindergarten. Our schools get out at 2:15 - they just napped after school. Even now E prefers to nap around 2/3 pm. The kids still napping didn't have any trouble . The kids I saw with the most difficulty starting kindy were the ones on a late sleep schedule ( used to going to bed really late and then sleeping late). That was hard.
I know some kids Henry's age who still nap on weekends occasionally. Makes me so jealous.

I have the biggest case of the Mondays. I'm such a grump today.
I woke up thinking it was Sunday. Our upstairs neighbor is having his floors redone. SO LOUD. Violet had her first accident and peed all over my couch. Then she spilled milk all over important papers on our table. I have a dentist appointment tonight. UGHHHH.
I pulled my back out on Saturday evening. It's still killing me, so I took a Tramadol and now I'm sleepy and don't want to work. Thank goodness it's a paperwork kind of day.

We had kindergarten nap time too. The teacher would put out little mats for us, pull the shades to darken the room, and play a record. We had to stay quiet and on our mats for 30 minutes after lunch. We didn't have to sleep, but we had to rest.
But what happens when the kids who need naps to function go to school with no naps??
They would have to adjust. Why force them to not nap before they absolutely have to? This another of those what works for you and yours is great and what works for me and mine is great and I really don't understand why the difference bothers you so much.
Full day kindergarten here includes rest time, I believe.
S dropped naps a loooong time ago, I miss those days desperately. I sometimes try to convince him to lay with me and nap and he just laughs at my attempts. The preschool he goes to has nap time, I told them he hasn't been a napper for over a year, and they say he can just sit and read or play quietly. Usually when I pick him up I ask if he napped, and he'll say "no, I just cried on my cot mommy"
My husband also does a million loads of laundry every weekend and then just leaves the clean clothes in fucking piles or in hampers all over the house. He doesn't understand that it's the opposite of helpful.

I guess I'd rather them be sleepy jerks with me than sleepy jerks in school. And I'm also all about slow transitions (in case you guys haven't noticed that about me!). Going from 3hr naps everyday to no naps seems so harsh to me.
Yeah, I just confirmed there is rest time. I still feel like I'd so much prefer to take on that burden with my own kids! That's probably why Adeline still doesn't STTN at 3.5.

So we are going on vacation to the beach condo from Aug 6- Aug 15th. H's birthday is Friday, I fully expected the IL's to be there for that (they have a condo in the same building). But yesterday H tells me that his mom is staying until Tuesday because she was able to take off. WTF. Apparently she just invited herself because she knew we were going to be there for the week. I mean I know she can go wherever she wants, she has a place there too but I just cannot stand her.
I've been looking online at vacation getaways for our five year wedding anniversary, although it doesn't make sense financially to spend that kind of money while we're still managing on one income. But I'm itching to go somewhere!
But what happens when the kids who need naps to function go to school with no naps??
H napped until the end of pre-k. There were no naps at summer camp. It took 3 weeks of crankiness to get over the hump. Then when school started she had to be woken up an hour earlier. We pushed bed time up 30mins. It took another few weeks to adjust.
I would much rather deal with that than a non napping 3 year old.
"Feel sorry for kids who - fill in the blank" comments incite a special kind of rage.

In my specific example, the kid is starting kindergarten in 3 weeks. So, the kid is not 3.
