I was reading an article on 5 ways to reduce stress, one of the points was to make your bed everyday. The theory is it creates a routine, and builds familiarity, which in return reduces stress. Do you make your bed every day?
Yep. I actually do kind of enjoy the "routine" things of our morning; maybe I do find it a stress reliever in a way. Of course, I am a pretty order-and-routine type of person to begin with.

Nope. Dh is way better about it than I am, but someone is usually still in when he leaves in the morning. But I will say that when I was pregnant with DD and on modified bed rest, making my bed, showering, and putting clean clothes (sweats) helped me to not go crazy. I would immediately climb back in bed, but I made myself a rule that I could only be under the covers at bedtime. Throw blankets were fair game, though.
I make my bed everyday, but on the rare occasion that I'm running late and don't have time to make the bed actually stresses me out more. Or if DH sleeps in and doesn't make the bed, it not being made bugs me too. A bed being made or not being made never bothered me before, I'm really getting quirky in my old age.

I'm finding the same is happening to me. It bugs me a lot more now when things aren't in their place or done a certain way. I was thinking it seems like it's since having DS, but it could also just be because I'm getting old too.

If I'm running super late & don't have time to make it in the am, it's the very first thing I do when I walk in the door later that day. Sigh. Old.
I make the bed at hotels where they have a person for that, but I am not as anal about making the bed at home. I am a very organized person except for making the bed.

Yes, it bugs me to walk into a room with an unmade bed. The rest of my room is a mess, but at least my bed is made. I also like getting into a neatly made bed at night. Dh 'makes' the bed if he's the last one up on the weekends, but he doesn't even pull the sheets up neatly and it drives me nuts.
I have been trying to get into the habit of doing it and find that when the bed is made, I am less stressed. I think that goes for the house in general though. Clutter stresses me out and my mood is 5000% better when the house is clean and organized. It is the quickest way to put me in the good mood. I also find it starts the snowball of picking other things up too. And finally, it is soooo nice to come to bed and get under the covers of a made bed. I am really weird, this I know.
I'm not a bed maker. I do agree that when it's done it looks nice & neat & give the room a tidy feel. I am a stresses disorganized mess right now but even at my best I wasn't a bed maker. I went through a phase after DD was born & was trying to get every little thing around the house perfect & in it's place but that ship sailed long ago, sigh.
We make all the beds every day, it takes less than 10 minutes and makes such a difference in how the house looks. The kids also know how to make the beds, I feel it's a good lesson for them. Dad is so proud when she makes her bed. I wouldn't say an unmade bed stresses me out but it would contribute to the clutter and chaos, don't need that.
I didn't see the point when I was working because we were rarely home, but now that I SAH I like the bed to be made. DH is usually the one who makes it though.
