If your feet and ankles got pretty swollen during pregnancy, did they ever go down (before delivering) or were they swollen until after having the baby?
I've noticed certain symptoms will come and go (like heartburn from week 32-33), and I'm hoping the swelling is one
I'm 35 weeks BTW. This is my first post over here, but I used to post infrequently on the nest, so hi!
Well, right after you will remain so because you may be given a lot of fluids during labor. have you tried wearing compression stockings/socks? These helped me a lot.
Mine never did. It was worse at the end of the day than when I woke up, but it was still kind of there in the morning. The only way I got rid of it was to pop out a baby.
Thanks for the responses! I'm only paying attention to the ones that say it will go away soon!
I haven't tried compression socks, where would you even buy them? I'm doing epsom salt foot baths which seems to marginally help.
It is worse at night- I have my feet propped up above my heart right now, but recently got a lot more pronounced; cankles all the way
I still exercise and now thats getting hard because my sneakers barely fit! Sooo ready to return to a normal size AND wear my rings again!
I bought mine at Walgreens in their medical supply aisle. I think I got medium support. They are a bitch to get on, but they do make a difference and you could just sleep in them.

I was really swollen up to and through delivery. Once I had that leech out of me, it went down rapidly. I went home 30 hours later with a remarkable drop in swelling. It was gone in 2 more days.

Mine didn't really swell until 2 days (through 3 weeks post-partum). I could hardly bend them, which was really fun while also engorged and dealing with sore nether-regions. With everything going on my frickin' feet had to hurt too?!?!? It sucked. Apparently it isn't terribly uncommon to swell after delivery, but I wasn't expecting it.
