My 14 year old has been wearing brightly colored workout shorts and tops to school this past year or so. He said Under Armour was popular in middle school.
Well, this will create a big clusterfuck for back to school shopping. THANKS OBAMA. DD has a pretty strict dress code. No sweats allowed, jeans or khaki's. No skinny jeans. Plain collared or crew neck shirts, no logos or anything. Sorry kiddo, no style points for you.

I will have go look around to see if this rings true here. Kids wear uniforms to our public schools, so I won't see it there. DD loves her dresses and skorts, but that's more a product of Disney princesses than style.
It seems like the uniform for girls on the college campus is short running shirts + a t shirt so big you can't even tell they're wearing pants.
I won't lie, it looks super comfy. I need more workout clothes.
Yes. This is what my sister wears. She also wears tall socks with running shoes or sandals. They rarely wear makeup and throw their hair on top of their head in a messy bun. I cannot believe that's what's in style.
I was so ahead of the times in high school and college.
My H had two pairs of sweats with the banded ankles, probably from 1997. I swiped them and wear them around the house in the winter. They have pockets and I can roll the waistband. They do not, however, leave the house.
I'm wearing Calvin Klein black knit jeggings today. They're basically dressy leggings with pockets and a fly, and I love them so much that I bought five pairs. No fucks given.
My 14 year old has been hounding me to buy her some soccer pants because the zipper on her old ones broke. She doesn't play soccer but plans to wear it as everyday wear. I wear my workout clothes often but 99% of the time it's because I just worked out or am going to. I run plenty of errands before and after workouts in them. This summer I've been wearing my running shorts and tank tops around with no plans to workout. They are so comfortable.
This look sums it up. I got a Gymboree flyer for back to school and they were showing little boys in a similar banded bottom pant.
Those look so comfy! I really do hope that sweats and athletic apparel do become trendy. I'd love to wear them in public and not feel like I'm being judged.
