I haven't been around as much the past couple weeks (too busy working) but I don't think there's been an updates thread lately.
My dad was diagnosed with malignant melanoma a couple weeks ago and his oncologist was expecting the worst because of the size and ulceration of his tumor (Original thread here pandce.proboards.com/thread/463430/cancer). He's been through 3 levels of analysis for seeing whether the cancer had metastasized - blood work, PET scan and a deeper scope with a cancer surgeon that checked his lymph nodes and around the tumor site. The blood and PET scan came back clean last week and just yesterday we got the results from the surgeon and his cancer is not spreading. This is AMAZING and totally unexpected news. Dad's oncologist prepared us for the worst and honestly it sounded like it was highly unlikely that his cancer had not metastasized.
That same week I got my 3 hour GD test results back and apparently I was wrong in understanding the results because the cutoffs are very different than the 1 hour. Who knew. Anyway I only passed by a few points in both the middle tests so that plus being overweight and still hoping for a VBAC or at least an easier RCS recovery I need to watch my diet. BUT I don't have to take my blood or completely avoid sweets (I really should but whatever).
On the job front I won the battle of expanding our smoking policy to e-cigarettes. I'm still annoyed that it had to be a fight but winning is great.

I was just going to ask how your GD was going! I'm so glad you don't have to deal with it.
As I suspected, I think mine is quite borderline as I've had no trouble keeping my numbers down after making a few small adjustments to my diet - primarily just giving up eating chocolate for every meal . Testing 4x per day is annoying though!!

Great news! Are we supposed to put our own updates here too?
I am still unemployed, but currently have three opportunities - all very different - running. One I believe I am the top choice, but I need to meet with the ED for sign off, but it's been delayed due to travel. It's also my third choice of all the possibilities. I've finished round 3 at another place and am waiting, have interview #1 Friday at another place, which has a fast timeline (like, I applied Friday, got called Monday, had phone interview yesterday). So I'm feeling confident that I'll find something before my severance runs out e/o September, but I'm still pushing because I know all three could bust.
Wow chickens987- too many potential offers is a great problem to have! It's always possible to accept and then turn around quickly if one drags their feet. Obviously not ideal but it does happen. Curious how the job search is going in your hood thebreakfastclub? And how is X-ray (ha) doing rikki?
