I solo parent most night. Chipotle and Chick Fil A (I know, I know) are staples in our house when I just don't have the energy to adult. Also screentime and long baths.
I would ask mom to bring me dinner instead. Also entitled but you did plan on a dinner from your sister and as such, didn't make other plans right?
My mom is out of town just for one night. When I asked her to help tonight she said oh I can't but your sister will bring you dinner!
My sister is coming over and making tacos. I told her I would order pizza no problem but she wants to come I guess.
Dang! But that's great your sister is coming! DH has been out of town this week and DD will either be getting Costco samples for dinner or a frozen pizza. I feel your pain.

Yeah J keeps saying: "can I watch Frozen? THE ENTIRE THING?"
Night one zero screen time Night two 25 minutes Night three one hour Night four... all of frozen? Lol
I blame her going to bed at ten. I'm under duress.
LOLOL
This is me M-Th. Fridays I take DS to the grandparents because I just can't.
I can't even tell you the spiritual lift I get when I think someone is coming over to help with my child - and that's WITH my H being home and without being in my third trimester of pregnancy. I can certainly understand your initial sadness. So glad she's making it after all, AND bringing cookies (it's the least she could do, really!).

I wish DH would understand this. He's like "you're only alone with him for like 2 hours a night". WTFBBQ man. End of the day parenting is HARD.
Rage? Seriously? I'm going to blame this on pregnancy hormones. Sounds like things have worked out, though.
You wouldn't be angry if your mom promised you help and then totally flaked on doing it?
Um... not buying that. "Rage" was probably a strong word, but when you're expecting your favorite meatballs and then you get nothing instead, of course there's some serious disappointment.
Glad she came through on the promise she didn't know she made @starry.
