My twins will be 10 mos next week. They've always had bottles every 3 hours. Since 9 mos this has been the schedule:
730 am wake, bottle 830/9 breakfast Nap 10-11 11 am bottle 1230 lunch 2 pm bottle nap 23p-4 5 pm bottle 615 dinner 730 bottle, bed around 8 pm
They were doing fine until we added breakfast. They eat 25 oz BM a day and 6 oz or so puree a day. Lately though they have trouble finishing the 5 o clock bottle and DS spits up a lot before bed.
What should I do different? They're tiny babies so I hate to decrease BM at all.
Mine is 10.5 months, but this has been our schedule for a couple of months. I'm home now, so I'm not sure how much breast milk he is getting when he nurses. Also, he eats table food, not purees, and the amount he'll eat varies each day.
I think that your 5pm bottle, 6:15 dinner, and bed time bottle are a lot in a 2.5 hour period. I would probably try to move up the 5pm bottle to 4pm, and/or reduce that bottle by an ounce. Also - what kind of food are you feeding them? Maybe you could try to increase the fat and calories in their solid food diet? You could also use breastmilk in your solid foods - oatmeal, pancakes, etc.
I get it though. My kid is a peanut, which is why I'm not fighting him on the MOTN feedings. Sometimes, I swear he lives on just sunshine and air.
We are 10 months in a few days. I JUST added dinner to his schedule but this week he isn't finishing bottles but is teething so who knows. This is my loose schedule
Wake/bottle somewhere btw 6:30/7am Breakfast between 7 and 7:30 Bottle at 9:30 Nap from 10-11:30 Lunch at 12 Bottle at 1ish Nap 1:30/2-3/3:30 Dinner 5 Bottle and bed 6:30-7
She is BF so I'm not sure her exact # of ounces, but I estimate 4oz per nursing session and she nurses 7-ish times per day.
Here is our rough schedule. Naps flex 30-45 minutes either way some days. 7 a.m.: nurse 8 a.m.: breakfast (usually banana chunks and a bite or two of toast) 9:30 a.m.: nurse 9:30-11 a.m. nap 11:30a.m.: nurse Noon: lunch (a veggie and whatever protein her older brother is having) 1:30 p.m.: nurse 2-3;30 p.m.: nap 3:30 p.m.: nurse 5:30 p.m.: nurse 6 p.m.: dinner (whatever we are eating. she had some corn and a couple bites of chicken tonight) 7:15: nurse before bed she usually wakes once around 3:30 a.m. to eat.
Mine is 11 months now but we've been on roughly this schedule all summer, with a 30 min leeway for naps
530-615 wake up/nurse 730- breakfast (scrambled egg with cheese, half piece whole wheat toast) 8:45 nurse 9-1030 nap 1045- snack (fruit or Cheerios) 1- lunch (varies but usually something like cheese stick, beans, and veggie) 1:45 nurse 2-330 nap 345 snack (yogurt, applesauce, puffs) 6pm dinner (we give her whatever we've having but she rarely eats much dinner) 7:15 nurse and bed
Sometimes she asks to nurse (by lifting up my shirt, lol) before lunch for a few mins too. I just go by her cues.
