1. 35+2
2. Heavy. I've gained more than I hoped, but I rationalized that I generally gain 10 lbs in the summer because it's too miserably hot to do anything and all I want to do is eat ice cream (this is true!)
3. We did a 2-day birth class with DD1. I remember learning about immediate skin to skin and that when DH distracted me while I held a bag of ice I could hold it longer, lol. I think it was helpful.
4. Cerclage is out and cervix is still closed! For all intents and purposes, I am a normal pregnant woman waiting for labor. Of course, because I have to have anxiety over something, I am worried I won't go into labor by our 38 week deadline (not comfortable going past that because we're not sure why DD1 passed away). If I'm not favorable for induction, I might have to give up the idea of a VBAC and have a RCS. Come 36 weeks, I'll be doing everything I can to go into labor!!
1. How far along are you? 13+4 -- officially second tri!
2. How are you feeling? So much better.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. No. I did a one-day class at my OB's office with a nurse/doula last time and it was a year ago, so it's still fresh in my mind!
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I scheduled the anatomy scan yesterday. This is really feeling real.
longtimenopost, yay for being a normal pregnant lady waiting for labor! I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
3. We're taking a baby care basics class this month, and lamaze in October. Skipping breastfeeding class, because everyone tells me it makes minimal sense until you have a baby in front of you to feed.
4. Life has been pretty relentless lately, and I need the pace to slow down: lack of free weekends, work overflowing into nights/weekends, etc. I'm feeling al little suffocated by it, and frustrated at how distracted and self-centered Calvin has been related to some elective medical procedures that he has suddenly decided must be done now. But fortunately I'm doing pretty well pregnancy wise.
3. We took a birth class before DD was born and even though she ended up coming via c/s, it was still helpful and informative (especially for DH). No classes this time around.
4. We are moving DD out of the crib and into a twin bed this weekend! The nursery is coming along and I finally found a navy rug; just need a few more pieces of wall decor to make it complete.
2. I had the worst stomachache all night last night. Took dd to the splash park and apparently the park bench imprinted on my butt cheeks. wth Now I have a waffle print bruise going on down there. My H had to bring a little compact so I could see. I don't think we are having sex for a long time.
3. We did last time and thought they were pretty useless.
2. Tired. My belly just feels heavy all the time. And I sleep like crap, but I don't see that getting better anytime soon, lol.
3. Took some birth and newborn care/breastfeeding classes 5 years ago during my first pregnancy. For this pregnancy I have been doing prenatal yoga and I'm taking the boys to a new sibling class this weekend.
4. This is the first time in 3 pregnancies that my blood pressure is still low at 36 weeks! So I'm also a normal pregnant lady waiting to go into labor. It's kinda weird, lol. But I'm hoping to go to at least 38 weeks (would be a record for me) since DS1 starts a new school next week and I'd like to get through that transition before the baby comes.
2. How are you feeling? So far so good. Still some random bouts of nausea and dealing with what I think is sciatica in my lower back. But, I'll survive.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. No, we took a class last time and don't think we need to repeat.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms - No vents today! Less than a week until my ultrasound to see the little munchkin, and we heard the heartbeat again yesterday, which always makes me happy.
2. How are you feeling? Generally good. Random aches and pains here and there, and am usually exhausted at the end of the day. But nothing major.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. We did two classes before having DS - childbirth and breastfeeding. I felt both were helpful, more so for DH than me, but not doing any classes this time around.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I am ready to meet this baby! DH needs to hang the monogram over her crib this weekend.
@vicmo - I never vomited but I had really bad nausea. I ended up going on Diclegis (which I hear is basically B6/Unisom) and it helped tremendously.
2. See previous response Just very heavy/achy/uncomfortable from the ribs on down.
3. We took two with DD1 (childbirth and infant care) but aren't doing any this time around. I meant to look into a sibling class but dropped the ball.
4. Having DD1 arrive at 38 weeks is really messing with my head. I keep thinking this baby could come any day now, when it could be any time between now and the end of the month.
2. Pretty good! I've even worked out a couple of times this week and it feels awesome to get back to my normal routine a little bit.
3. I don't think so. We did a birth class with DD and I feel like it's still fairly fresh in my mind. We are undecided on whether to have a doula this time around.
4. Now that I'm not getting sick anymore, I keep forgetting I'm pregnant, LOL. Just going to enjoy things being relatively easy for a while, before my clothes stop fitting, heartburn, etc starts up!
2. How are you feeling? Constant low levels of nausea.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. Nope. Took one last time.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I know it's fortunate to "only" have nausea but no vomiting (yet) but do any of the remedies like b6 etc actually reduce nausea? I'm basically mainlining Jolly ranchers and cheerios as subtly as I can. Also, vent, my current job makes it hard to sneakily have 8 million doctors appointments. Last time no one noticed anything but this time it feels like flashing neon lights.
I ate those preggie pops and they actually did help. SOrry you feel this way. A couple weeks ago I was at my wits end because of the nausea.
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. This is the one week I will not complain since i started checking in.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. Nope. Last time I had a doula. She didnt make it to our birth but she gave us a short lesson before. We also went to natural birth classes in the hospital. This time I am going to read some of the books I read last time over, like the big book of birth and Ina May. I also loved baby catcher but its more of a story. And i will probably watch the business of being born. I feel like last time these all helped me prepare for an unmedicated birth and get my head in the correct mindset. This time I feel less confident I can do it. Even though it wasnt too big a deal last time. I just need some motivation. I thought about seeing if I can hire the doula for phone consultations like she did last time. I dont think I need someone in the room. Just someone to periodically give me hairpats.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. My pants stopped fitting. I wore a maxi today and look super cute. Except i feel like I look pregnant which is making me slightly self conscious at work.
2. How are you feeling? Well I was diagnosed with Shingles yesterday and its on my belly and VERY uncomfortable and itchy. I started anti-virals yesterday and am hoping to feel better soon. Other than that I feel ok, the shingles is distracting me from my general uncomfortable-ness.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. We did a hospital tour. Next week we are taking Infant CPR and we are also taking a breastfeeding class in a few weeks.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I have started to wind down my projects at work and have 6 weeks left. I am SO DONE.
2. How are you feeling? Ugh. Back to no food sounding good, and so so tired. I feel like all I do anymore is sleep. Currently thinking under my desk looks like an awesome place to nap.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. This is my first, so infant cpr. Probably a newborn care class for DH's sake (he has zero baby experience at all). Unsure about any others right now.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. Still not allowed to work, but I have hope on Monday I can get back in the lab!
2. How are you feeling? Huge. Tired. Done. I feel bad complaining because this pregnancy has been much easier than the last two, and considering I'm almost at my due date And its August, I'm far more comfortable than I would have thought. But I'm now officially a SAHM and my kids are go go go non stop and I haven't been sleeping well at all. I'm weirdly excited to spend a night in the hospital with only one kid to worry about.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. We did a Bradley class before dd1 was born, and we did a breastfeeding class. I found them both very helpful (although I took the Bradley class with a grain of salt-it was a little too much for me at times.) funny story-a few hours after my water broke with dd2, DH dug the Bradley work book out from somewhere and basically crammed. I laughed at him, a lot. I wonder if he'll do it again this time.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I really, really hope this is my last check in! Due date is Wednesday, and dd2 was born on her due date (dd1 was induced - see also, Bradley class failure).
1. 15 weeks 1 day 2. The reflux started this week. But the worst part is I pulled a muscle in my back really bad to the point where I have trouble sitting. I left work halfway through yesterday. But my 18 month old still wants me to hold him all the time which is painful but I feel bad making him cry. 3. No and I didn't last time. 4. One more week til my vacation. I can't wait I haven't been off for a week since my maternity leave which ended 15 months ago
I'm wearing Sea Bands. They are doing a reasonably good job at keeping my nausea under control. That and candied ginger.
1. They officially changed my due date after my u/s this week so I am suddenly 21 w 6 d!
2. I feel fine.
3. No, we took a short childbirth and breastfeeding overview last time and that was good but this time I don't think it is necessary.
4. My OB told me to drink 4-6 liters of water a day. Lol forever. I would basically just spend all day peeing it right out. I got 2.5 in the other day and peed like every 40 minutes. I felt good though!
Ds jumped and landed right on my belly the other day. Man I was freaked out.
I just got an email from my Dr. and since my platelets are dropping the plan is to start steroids at 37w5d (August 17th) and deliver at 39 weeks (August 26th) if everything stays as it is right now.
But I'm still going in for weekly appointments and blood draws to make sure everything stays stable and check to see if I'm progressing any further (currently 1cm).
It kinda seems like a pipe dream at this point since the longest I've ever been pregnant between my two sons is 37w4d, but I guess it's just time to wait and see!
2. How are you feeling? ROUND. Definitely feeling 3rd trimester but luckily my feet are not as swollen as with DS1. Tired all the time. Not as bad as first tri but ugh.
3. Have you attended/will you attend any classes prior to birth? Describe. I've never attended a class. I kind of wish I had attending a BFing class last time but oh well. 2nd time mom I don't need classes.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. DS got a cold from daycare and I'm hoping I don't get it.
I dont think I need someone in the room. Just someone to periodically give me hairpats.
I had a friend that did this sort of thing for me last time. Literally the night before I went into labor we had a long text conversation about natural childbirth and her 2 labors. It actually really helped motivate me and was perfect timing!
Thank you for the reminder. I actually have a firend who gave birth a year after me. She called me to talk about my birth. She then called me after she had her child and told me how great our conversation was and how it kept her going. I may have to give her a call and have her be my buddy.
1. 18w4d 2. Yuck, I'm sick this week. 3. Well I posted about my pre-class last night and it was not good. Not sure. Looking for a hypnobabies class as well. 4. Terrified for my anatomy scan Wednesday!
