I'm starting to design my bedroom and it is a clean slate. I am getting rid of our old duvet cover because it is just too heavy- it's a really heaven linen or canvas. I want a light cotton, just like a sheet.
I wasn't sure if I should try to find a piece of artwork I like or a duvet covet first.
I like this cover from west elm, but without seeing it I can't figure out how heavy it is
We have a canopy bed with a high headboard, so no art.
I have a few quilts/duvet covers I swap out. DH freaks out around patterns, so they're different solid colors--gray, charcoal, dark blue, light blue. We also have an Amish quilt from MIL that's every color of the rainbow
We have a window over our bed. I have found some excellent duvet covers at TJ Maxx home goods and have been very impressed. $50 for a king duvet set is hard to pass up!
We've never really "decorated" our bedroom. I mean, we chose paint, and bought bedding, etc., because the walls have to be some color and we have to sleep under something. But it's a very low priority in terms of buying furnishings. We've never actually shopped for bedroom furniture, it's just a random collection of stuff we've acquired.
I do like our duvet cover though. It's from Pottery Barn.
I have a built in bookcase. We have a couple of duvet covers that we change from time to time. They are all either white or light, springy greens. The walls are painted a gray/blue ("Valley Mist"). This was right after we painted...the nightstands are a mess and we hadn't quite set up the books in the bookcase yet, but you get the idea:

We have 4 colored pencil portraits of our dogs over the past 12 years (3 deceased, 1 still with us) over the bed and when we use a duvet it's just a plain white cotton one from Overstock.
We have nothing over our bed, but our duvet is from Amazon and the throw pillows are home goods. We got the tufted headboard from Joss and Main. Only pic I have in my phone also has our pup, lol.
Nothing over the bed. This duvet from PB and also switch out a solid brown textured one from Macy's hotel collection sometimes. I think I'm going to wallpaper the wall behind our bed.
We have all white bedding from Overstock (it's lightweight) with a "hotel style" embroidery. The duvet cover and sheets were less than $100.00 and it's 1.5 years old and still totally fine. I love it.
I have a black starburst mirror with crystals above our bed.
It's decently decorated but simple.
We also have the most 1993 version of a bedroom set ever (It was Hs from childhood). It's nice and actually very very solid, so why we haven't replaced it. I don't hate it enough to make it a financial priority so I deal. I've learned to embrace it and the simpler I keep the bedding the better it looks.

We have the pin tucked duvet from West Elm. My H wanted all white bedding, and I do like it but will probably get a couple throw pillows and add color.
We have a couple of my small paintings above the bed.
