All you "everything is protected in glass" people, do your Tiffanys not have crystal and china items sitting out? I would be more worried about my kids breaking that stuff than somehow compromising the jewelry.
(Although I would take a kid regardless--not saying that is a reason not to go.)
i have never been in a tiffany's.
my local kay's doesn't have stuff out.
(wilted)
Our local Jared has a whole kid room with an indoor play structure. E played while I had my rings cleaned.
Well, obviously, but there is a shitton of crystal and all kinds of other shit within reach. Not to mention toddler fingerprints all over the cases. I just don't want to be that person, but it seems like I'm good.
I was joking...
Obviously bringing a toddler into a store full of crystal and other breakables isn't the BEST decision but I'm sure you can handle it.
I've only been to the NYC tiffany's, but at ours the crystal is on a whole different floor than the jewelry. I wore J in the Tula when I had to buy a new necklace chain. He had no access to anything except the jewelry around my own neck.
I take my kids everywhere including art galleries & jewelry stores. Maybe I wouldn't have taken DD1 because she was a maniac, but all the rest are human.
Huh. This has made me realize I don't remember the last time I was in a jewelry store, and have never been in a Tiffany store. Edit: wait, jewelry store in 2008 when I finally got my wedding band resized.
I let DD run around in the mall right outside the Tiffany's store. I'd take her in if I had to, but I'd hold her if I was worried about stuff getting knocked over. Our store is the "glass cases everywhere" kind.

the SF and WC stores have their China & crystal behind glass
