They were between 4-5 weeks. My LO smiled for "real" at 4 weeks on Christmas. It was while my mom was holding and talking to her. Little giggles between 7-9 weeks.
Smiling the first time I think was 4 weeks or so. It was very occasional for a while. He still barely "laughs" but we determined his laugh is more like a "ha!" instead of giggling. He has had a few giggle laughs but not too many. Pedi said it was normal so I'm not worried!
All of mine smiled 6 weeks from their due dates, so my early baby smiled a few weeks later than her sisters.
I was wondering about this. DS was born 3.5 weeks early, so I wasn't sure if his milestones would all occur later than average. Have you found this to be the case for other things besides smiling?
DD: smiled at 8-9 weeks, didn't really laugh until 4 months
Your DS's time seems like my DS. Legit giggles weren't until about just before 4 months. Maybe some of his little "ha"s before that were laughs, but I didn't count it.
I remember this bc I was home alone with Ds for a week while DH was oot. I had spent hours trying to get him to go to sleep and suddenly he just looked up at me and smiled and made me not care.
He was 7 weeks.
Oh and giggles he was 3.5 months. The first time he giggled we were in the waiting room for my breast ultrasound of a clogged duct.
