Corbin is playing in a soccer tournament with his new team this weekend. They have lost all three of the games they played so far. It is not fun to watch your kid get discouraged.
One game the only goal was scored by him though?
That is good at least! My DS has never been in a team that won more than one game. I am hoping this year is better. Lol
So much for my breeziness about my first nights away from DS. I just started crying while Face-Timing him. But I made him laugh and it was so adorable. I just could not possibly love that kid more.
I am in Detroit for a work trip and did an architecture tour and the Henry Ford museum today. I like it here! And now I am about to lie in bed and read magazines and watch TV totally uninterrupted!
I got an invite to a bridal shower yesterday. I am likely going to have to PIP because I don't think my description will do this justice, but along with the Macys & BB&B registry cards, there was a Home Depot BUSINESS card, with the name sharpied out, and the words "gift card" wrote on it. (huh)

But I wish I could kiss his little cheeks.
Aw, sorry you're sad The first night away is a little rough. But also, welcome to Detroit! How long are you here for?

DS was a bit warm after his nap and definitely not feeling himself, so we canceled our date night. But it was the right call because he was whimpering a little bit ago anc I went in and he Puked all over us both. Glad it wasn't the sitter. My poor little love. I hope he feels better tomorrow.
V took some Zofran at about 4 and slowly made it through about 8-12 oz of Gatorade before bedtime. He is in a big mommy phase, so props to msniq for surviving endless "no, mommy do it" requests.

That is how his basketball team is. But that one win felt pretty damn good!
I feel like there should be a statute of limitations on being angry at ex-spouses. Like, absent abuse or financial ruin or something, after twice the length of the relationship you ought to be able to be in the same room and hold a conversation for half an hour, right?
Got home from dinner and found my mom (who was babysitting) in C's room because his fever, which was 101 this morning, had spiked to 104.2. It took forever for urgent care to call us back, but we got it down to 102.5 with a cool bath and cool rags on his forehead. Another dose of medicine hasn't done anything yet. My poor baby.
We went to spk926 's house tonight. DS had so much fun playing with the other kids, he wore himself out. He was asleep before we got out of their neighborhood
He was such a trooper! He really played hard. Thanks for coming, it was fun!

I'm listening to my child, who is still awake, talking to her stuffed animals. "Yam. Yam! It's night night! Shhhhhh." "Yam" is her lamb. I can't even be annoyed, it's too cute. lol

They have kids. Even financial ruin should be set aside for short events with their kids.

He's been fighting sleep for over an hour, and may have just finally given in. His whole body is so hot. I have instructions from urgent care to monitor his temp frequently all night.
Also, I'm totally going to be complaining to my clinic about their after hours care. I couldn't get anyone on the phone and finally gave up and called the hospital instead.

Oh no! I hope he gets some rest and his fever goes down asap. It is so sad when they are so sick. Hopefully you can get fluids into him too.

Omg! C says the same thing, he picks a different parent each day though, "no dadddddddyyyyyy do it!" Was the fight I had to listen to at bedtime!

@starry I am having a hard time envisioning those dresses together, but I trust you that it works in person. I prefer the red for Christmas, although the pink one is gorgeous.

Do you work for a nonprofit? Everyone I know is in Detroit this week...
