We want to introduce this to Piper, so she can be exposed to wheat etc. She's been exclusively breastfed for 6 months but I am running out of freezer stash and will have to make the cereal for daycare with formula.
What's the best way to do this? Can I put cereal and formula in a container and have them add water? Or do you have to make formula then add it?
Or do I just use water. I worry her iron is low, since she's not getting cereal or formula. Thanks!
My DD never had cereal or formula and her iron is totally fine at 2 even though we have a lot of anemics in the family. Do what makes you happy, but just wanted to ease some stress maybe?
We make a bottle and pour in enough to make it as thick as we want (then he usually finishes the bottle after eating). We've also mixed it with banana and an apple puree but I'm not sure if that's enough liquid to get the right consistency? I'm guessing just water is fine though. I think part of mixing with formula or BM is to get them to like it because it will be a familiar flavor. I could be totally wrong though

I mix with water if I don't have spare expressed breast milk handy. Once they are 6 months and on solids, most people say a little water is fine, so why not have it in her baby cereal?
