We had a lot going on last week and the thread last all week! Glad to see so many new faces joining!
What's up for this week?
Me: trying to decide if I should put in for an internal promotion I only partially want. Haven't heard back from my interview two weeks ago, but I am not holding out much hope. It's ok. I'm kind of meh on the job anyway. My friend works there and loves it, but I'm not sure.
And my phone won't let me scroll down to delete the random "want" at the bottom.

Waiting to hear from my interview last week... And got a great lead on a job in the 4th of our potential cities, which I applied to this morning. I have 12 working days until my vacation- sooooooo looking forward to that, but am worried about managing the logistics of going to an OOT interview during that time (and also, having 7 days when I'm totally unavailable)! I keep telling myself that we'll cross that bridge when we get there
My interview last week went really well! Got a verbal offer Friday afternoon; waiting on the written offer, which should be sent "early this week." Excited! Also a bit nervous about actually going back to work; still need to figure out daycare & before/after school care logistics.

I already got the results back from my quasi-CSE and I ended up ranked #1 (shared rank with 4 others) with a 100% score! So that puts me on the eligibility list and my name will go to any/all open positions that meet my availability/location/etc. So hopefully I'll start getting calls soon, because I just cannot even with doing my current job any more.
I've also finished 1 of 3 courses in my REA licensing course. Hopefully soon I'll be done with that and able to sign up for the licensing exam (at least 5 more weeks).
I've stopped applying to open positions for right now, not because I don't want a job, but because there is literally nothing out there that is appealing in pay/hours/location - I'm just fingers crossed that I'll get a bite on the county job and/or move along fast on my REA licensing.
I have an interview Wednesday at a school that I would really, really like to work at. I've been researching for days. Aside from wanting a FT teaching job, I feel like my goals/beliefs really align well with theirs.
What do you all do to prep for an interview? How much is enough? I have read two books relevant to their particular school culture, gathered student work examples from my own teaching, written down my answers to typical questions, prepped my "elevator speech" and ordered a slew of suiting options that should be arriving on my doorstep in the next hour. I'll print out copies of my resume, cover letter and credentials to bring with me.
I got an email about arranging my travel for the interview. It's in my home state, and my mom would like for me to stay with her. I'm fine with that. But when I emailed the point of contact about it, I got an out of office from her. I am going to make the arrangements for the flight and hotel and change them later if needed.

Good luck! And I'm sure that's fine. Govt hotel reservations have great cancelation policies (usually same day by 6pm)

Let's see. Still waiting to hear back on the cross country move. Really hoping the last interview went well.
Sharing more info with the other recruiter to see if they think I'd fit well within their org.
Having a conversation this week about an opening in a company located near me that could be an interesting new skillset. This was a company I reached out to in regards to another opportunity that has already been filled.

Yup. I decided not to book at hotel and to just stay with my mom. It'll be nice to see her for a bit while I am up there. I called Omega this morning before my boss got in) and booked the flight. I had to book the last flight back because I don't know what my interview day will look like.
I'm working with my district to get a proclamation for an upcoming event.
Basically, I'm kicking ass and it's awesome.
I look forward to this thread every week.
Also, wanted to recommend those in here to download the Win Streak app. You're able to add a win for everyday and it's been great to track my little career wins.
So I applied to an internal promotion in a fit of bitterness. My point was to prove just how screwed I was bc here would be yet ANOTHER internal job they said I was unqualified for.
I made the best qualified list.
But remember Jen from last week? The one who got screwed over? So did she. Not only is this perfect for her, but I also want her to get it as a big eff you ( it's under a different office). Plus, I'm not sure I want the commute.
