I feel like I may have heard this here, but is it "bad" for a baby to eat directly from the pouch?
DD is 6.5 months, loves purees and has of course learned to suck right from the pouch. By learned, I mean I put the pouch on her tray and she picked it up and immediately started eating right from the spout. Tonight I let her eat from the pouch and she downed almost an entire pouch of pears n about 3 minutes. It was incredibly/scary.
She's crafty. I watch her like a hawk every moment, but she's pretty capable. She's also able to grab some finger food as well, so we're doing a combo of purees and BLW.
Is this bad? She'll eat from the spoon but gets impatient. I'm totally OK to make her eat from the spoon, but I'm wondering if there's any "harm" to her by letting her basically self feed.
As long as she is also getting food with a spoon and finger foods, it's not a huge deal. The problem comes when they get really fast at sucking them down. They can easily overeat because they've eaten 3 pouches before their stomach has a chance to recognize that it's full.

I loved it with DD started eating straight from the pouch. In the beginning it also helped her learn how to drink from a straw cup too, getting the sucking thing down.
