It's not quite middle of the night on the west coast but late enough.
Late enough to be annoyed at MIL. Who visits a newborn and books a flight landing just before 11pm??? My H should have been in bed 1.5hrs ago. Hell, me and baby should be heading to bed soon.
We would just have them cab it but our house is tiny and would they assuredly wake us up anyway. Not to mention their sleeping arrangements are tbd (one double bed and she is bringing her mother...)
There isn't enough wine to get me through the next 6 days.
I guess that's the silver lining of having ILs live nearby? We have to see them often, but thankyouJesus they would never expect to stay over. Especially when I have a newborn. You deserve all the wine.
The worst part is that she isn't a big drinker and will prob freak out if I drink while breastfeeding.
But she will (I'm expecting) gladly watch ds so I can do whatever I want.
If she'll watch the baby, sneak a bottle of wine into the bedroom, then take a shower and drink up! Where's that suction cup shower wine glass holder? It's going on my Christmas wish list.
Hello pregnancy insomnia... I've been up twice to pee, DS randomly woke up once yelling for his cousin (??), and I can't fall back asleep. Might have to break the caffeine recommendations tomorrow.
Awake here and everyone else in my house is asleep. Woke up to pee and realized I was hungry. Then H started snoring and now I can't fall back asleep. Booooo.
I am never in these MOTN threads, so I guess I should be grateful for this rare appearance. But right now I just want to go back to sleep! DD decided to party until midnight and wake up at 5 Her crying woke DS briefly, but he seems to have gone back to sleep. His clock turns green at six though, so I'm sure he'll wake up moments after I get DD back down.
Oh man, sorry about your MIL visit. Hope she doesn't drive you too bonkers.
DS is having a good night sleep wise but I am exhausted. I went to a game night last night and got home late, then had to make bottles, freeze milk, prep for daycare and didn't get to bed until 11:30, which is about 2.5 hours later than usual. I don't know how I'm going to recover from the sleep deficit. Ugh, I want to be able to take a night off but between missed sleep and the barrage of texts/sighing from DH, it doesn't feel worth it.
Woke up at 2 am and 6 am to pee - couldn't go back to sleep after the 2nd time. A few minutes ago I hear DS crying so I open up the app to check the monitor and my dad was already in there getting him up. It's so awesome when my parents are here!

DD has a slightly elevated temperature (99.7 or so) and has the sniffles and won't go back to sleep. She nursed a ton about an hour ago, and since then she has been sleeping about 10 minutes, then waking up and moaning/crying for 5-10 minutes or so, then sleeping another few. We just gave her Tylenol and changed her diaper. I think we should put her in a onsie instead of her footie pajamas because she has an elevated temperature. DH thinks we should, if anything, take steps to warm her up. We compromised on doing nothing about her temperature (except the Tylenol). What says MMM? Should we try to warm her up or cool her off?
