If the only thing standing in between life and a watery grave is the guy in A15's passion for Old Country Buffet, I will take the train, thank you very much.

If Uzbekistan Airlines is their national airline, it has to include more than tiny planes. I doubt they're using four-seater planes on the Tashkent-Moscow route.
But yeah, I agree about tiny planes. IIRC, isn't weight why Aaliyah's small plane crashed?
ETA: And who woulda thunk it? Just saw they fly to JFK too. That definitely has to include a big airplane.
If they are small planes I don't care. Weight and balance is very important.
Yep. Even for big military planes (like 737s and c130s) I've been weighed. I've done it both with and without bags. They plan the fuel practically to the drop as a cost savings measure.
Ironically I haven't been weighed for the little 6-10 pax planes I've regularly taken, but they usually assume I'm the lightest and stick me all the way in the back. Unless there's a kid. Then I get to sit next to them while a parent sits farther forward.
I believe Samoa air has been doing this for years.
Air Crash Investigation (I believe called Mayday! in the USA) is a sick/guilty pleasure of mine.
There was a little regional plane that went down, I think in New York state, primarily because the estimated weight calculation of each passenger was so outdated and wrong. This one sticks out in my memory because the co-pilot was a 23 year old female, which was close to my age when I saw that episode.

Her plane crashed at the airport where I fly in to visit family, the place where I have 100% of my small plane experience (incl on an airline nicknamed roach coach lol).
Aaliyah's plane crashed on takeoff (the debris was there for years) due to weight and placement. Airport officials had begged them to leave stuff behind, but they refused.
ETA They estimated that after plane and cargo weight, each person would have to weigh less than #90 to not go above the max.
