I really thought seenoevil might be my SIL. She has been trolling my FB lately.
But honestly, seenoevil does sound like a woman from the Houston board, except she didn't go to Spelman. She went to UH.
She is Black (Jamaican or Bahaman-American), has mostly white friends, is married to a white Jewish man who is a teacher so he could be a Democrat, is a card carrying fierce Republican who detests Obama and Obamacare, is really intelligent, is an active volunteer with the Junior League and the Houston Texans, and I don't think she'd look fondly on the Black people meetings. Not sure about Natural Hair checkins, but she does flat iron her hair down.
So this person could live up to her resume. Even if she does, her actions are troll-like behavior. (Drop comments and run).
Welcome back. Since you are answering questions, my other question is, do you mind sharing your old screen name? I remember you said you couldn't get in that account, but who were you before?

She is also far, far more intelligent than this troll.

Very likely. Haven't really heard much from this troll to be able to make a judgment. Other than s/he is a troll. ;-)

This is part of why I said it wasn't impossible; however, just as a sort of a general rule, the same black people who choose to attend a HBCU don't tend to be the same black people who would detest Obama and/or frown upon the BPM threads. The natural hair disdain is weird to me because I don't see it as any different from threads about hair and hair products on the makeup board. There's not a hair thread on there that will apply to me but I just don't don't see how women talking about beauty products could be offensive to people who don't use those products.

Good point. It's most likely only offensive to those who cannot join the conversation. i.e. white people without naturally curly hair. :-)

This, all day.
How is it offensive to have a thread for and about people that have a specific hair concern, and if you've noticed, not so much in the check-in thread, but other natural hair threads, posters of many races and ethnicities posted, because, you know, curly and/or natural hair can be a challenge to manage and people like to post successes and failures with products and styles.
Plus, it's fun to see what other people are up to, and you know, it shares knowledge at the same time, that I think is the purpose of this board. I mean, yes, it's nice to have fun and laugh, but it's also nice to get some new info out of the board as a whole. No one said what that info has to be or that is has to be serious 100% of the time.
Should we not discuss natural hair, should we take it to a board that's made up of primarily black people? Next thing you know, that's an issue, because we should all just be able to converse as one. Please, what is so hard to understand that as black woman, and some who have may natural hair, may be experiencing similar things, and need to talk with other black women. Maybe someone will learn from a thread that's specific to black posters. Having a BPM or natural-hair check-in does not make you someone who only wants to discuss black issues, in fact, it makes you a realist, because the reality is, as a black woman, your experience is unique and different than that of other women.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley

With that, I step off of my soapbox.
The natural hair complaint is the weirdest thing I have read all day. If there was a thread that said, "Pale people come in" so I could ask them what they do about their pasty white legs when they aren't wearing hose/tights or for a recommendation, is that racist? What about, "People of color, recommend products for contouring"?
Because if so, seenoevil must think the makeup posts has all the makings of a race war.

I just wanted to say that I follow the natural hair thread and I really enjoy it! I've learned a lot about natural hair and some of the struggles women have with their hair. It sparked a conversation with one of my professors when I noticed her new 'do had Senagalese twists (never knew what they were called before.) Knowledge is power, bitches.

I'm pretty sure my white husband could write a dissertation on the subject at this point.
I am impressed you made it passed the mug shot. I fixated on that for a few seconds, then closed the window because apparently that's all my attention span could handle. #accomplishment

Chile, whatever board she'd probably frequent wouldn't allow us entry anyway. They probably have a virtual comb and paper bag test.
