ETA: You know what, I am going to respond for real. Unlike so many other young black people who have lost their lives at the hands of police, this cop's (white) life WILL matter because you can bet that the person who did this will be tried and convicted and sentenced. That is a fat lot more than the families of other victims have gotten. Especially when police close ranks and lie about what really happens.
So, again I say, FUCK OFF. GO AWAY.
ETA2: Police SHOULD be more thoughtful before they use deadly force. Not in the "hey let's think about this way" in the moment, but in better training to teach officers how to deal properly with situations that have gotten out of control due to police (and society's) racial bias. Let's teach officers how to recognize and work through these biases so they can go on about doing their job PROTECTING people. But, no, we can't seem to do that because "will someone think of the WHITE PEOPLE!! WE'RE NOT RACIST!!". Man up, white people. Facing the truth is hard, yo.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I wasn't aware this board preached, "Kill all cops and White people." If so, I want nothing more to do with these people. Please provide receipts.
I don't know you, but will assume your sympathies also always go out to those unnecessarily and unjustly harmed or killed, regardless of race or ethnicity.

Yup, from what I've heard from someone the man is being charged with attempted murder. So yes, this cops life does matter. Fuck this troll though.
My husband was asleep - thanks for asking. I waited ALL WEEKEND for someone to post about this - it was a headline on CNN for petes sake - but not a word. Ferguson, on the other hand - pages and pages.
It's like white lives and cops lives don't matter.
well at least this was a good exercise for everybody else on the board for the next time we encounter a person IRL who is all "BUT!!! what about that one time a black person beat up a white cop!?!?!?!"

You do realize much of the outrage surrounding Ferguson was that there were no consequences for the cop, and that's a common issue, which results in the death of many black men and even women in what should be non violent confrontations with the police, yet they turn deadly and the police officers typically continue on with their lives, uninterrupted?
Why should there be outrage here? Being a police officer is a dangerous job. This is a risk they take. And there are harsher consequences for people who attack police officers than even average citizens because of it. What should we be protesting here? It seems like there are charges and consequences for the person who did this. That's the way it's supposed to work. The cop's life matters. He doesn't need to force anyone to recognize that.
I've said nothing inflammatory or offensive. Just speaking facts.
Personally - as a black, Spelman educated republican woman married to a white democrat, I find your posts about black people meetings and natural hair checkins offensive.

If you want to post something, then post it. Don't be passive-aggressive and seethe when someone else doesn't.
This whole "Gotcha!" thing is as tired as the Sarah Palin it rode in on.
And I read and watch CNN about as much as I do Fox News so again, peace be with you. Do you have those, "Kill the pigs" receipts I asked for?

Just be a woman. Why draw lines?
I believe none of this because any Black woman knows that there are lines drawn between Black natural hair and All Other Types. That line was drawn around us and been there since creation. I have a hard time believing a college-educated Black woman doesn't know this. Somebody call Condoleezza, cause I bet she knows it.
Unless you are Stacey Dash. Because she is special.

You do know that anyone can post topics, right? You were free all weekend to start a discussion about this too.
So, what is it, exactly, about this story you want to discuss? What makes it different from the numerous other stories each day about people being assaulted and then their assailant charged with the crime?
