His appeal is because he's not a politician. I think the greater majority of republican America is just plain over "washington insiders". I blame his popularity on Congress. I think everyone is fed the fuck up with all the career politicians and he is a “business man” so he is representative of what people believe is the antithesis of that.

My mom mentioned that she likes that Trump says what he wants, doesn't lie about his true feelings, even if the truth hurts. ?

We're in serious trouble....lot of us played the guessing game that all this "voters" would have to go to another candidates...well, looks like he's 2nd choice for mane!

Not only is real estate mogul galloping in front of all other Republican presidential candidates, a poll from CNN/ORC released Tuesday showed he's also leading the pack as the second choice of GOP voters.

The poll found Trump had 24 percent of support among registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. In addition, he also led his GOP rivals as the second choice of those voters with 14 percent.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was trailing as the first choice for President at 13 percent. No other candidates polled at double digits.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson polled at 9 percent while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker each polled at 8 percent.

Trump was also chosen as the best candidate to handle ISIS, illegal immigration, the economy and social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The former reality television star over the weekend released his policy paper on immigration, which included making Mexico pay for a wall along the almost-2,000-mile border with the U.S.

The poll was conducted among 1,001 adults, 897 of whom were registered voters, by landline and cellphone from August 13 to 16. The overall margin of error was plus or minus 3 percent and, among registered voters, the margin of errors was 3.5 percent.
