We called it pre-drinks in college. It's sad how long I had to think about that to remember it. It's been too long since I drank a homemade concoction made by a roommate while curling my hair to go out.
I think pregaming stops for most people after college which is why people here don't think the term should be used. However, this is a message board for married women. I'm not married and live a single lifestyle. If there were more mid-20s, single women here I don't think pregame would have caused such a pearl clutch.
Bliss, its not so much the fact that you still pre-game. I still use that term on occasion. I think its the fact that you are making drinking a bigger priority that having a roof over your head, and you are still living as a college student, when you need to grow up and make adult choices.
And quit with the "its too much of a hassle." You have more excuses than my mom. And she has a lot. If you want to be successful, you need to deal with the hassles.
Seriously you are on here all the time complaining about some huge, major, life changing thing and then when everyone gives you advise you just respond with excuses about how the suggestion won't work and we don't know you. Then the following week it's something different and last weeks issue has been resolved and really wasn't a big deal to begin with.
Put on your big girl panties and deal with life like a normal person (i.e. by not posting it all over a message board).

Whoa?! I'm not sure how that assumption got in. First off, it's not that every room available is LDS standards, there's just a lot. Second, I"m not making drinking a priority, I'm stating that I'm not going to adhere to a lifestyle I don't agree with.
I'm living like most recent grads, or most single humans.
Successful and finding a place to live require very different hassles. I'll jump threw hoops on fire if necessary. It's not necessary in this case.

Well, you don't. So there.
ETA - Anything that is truly a life-threatening issue I won't post on a message board. I complain. It's how I process and get to the next step. Some people cry, others yell, I bitch. I'm also making phones, doing researching and figuring shit out while I'm complaining.
The big apartment complexes always have weekend and evening hours and (I assume) would not have religious rules like private landlords might.
There's not really any of those in the area I'm looking. And the few that are, are income restricted or uber pricey.
I'm waiting to see about an income restricted place though. If they count bonuses on the income restrictions or not. Does anyone know this?
Income restricted properties will base your salary off of an employment verification so it could go either way depending on your employer and how they fill out the form. They won't know what you don't tell them. I work in income restricted / tax credit property and the income restrictions are generally pretty low for single occupants though. The ones I manage are ~22,000 a year. Based off of what you've said here you would be over qualified.

The ones I was waiting on have 5 different levels of income. The highest is $32,000K for a single occupant. Without my bonuses I qualify but with my bonus I don't. They will go by the highest amount of bonuses. Sucks. Well, kinda. It's a bittersweet feeling. I just got off the phone with the lady. I was hoping for some market rate ones though, but those are rarely available because rent is still pretty cheap.
8-D I wouldn't choose to live somewhere that I couldn't keep beer in the fridge or have a few drinks with friends either. That doesn't mean I'm prioritizing drinking over more important things, it just means that if there are several options I'm going to choose one that lets me live the way I want to live. I think most of us can hardly blame Bliss for wanting to live somewhere that fits her lifestyle.
Now if there was 1 place available and she was getting kicked out tomorrow, it may be one thing, but legally she has 29 days at this point and it sounds like there are options.
We called it "preparty" but meant the same thing. Can't your "overnight guest" drive you around some weekend to look or does he/she also not have a car. You have to have a friend IRL willing to help...one of the pregamers should do it in return for you hosting

Ya I have a friend taking me to drive around tomorrow. I just got back from checking out one of the places, I don't think it will work out. But I did see a few unit available on my walk back so I"ll follow up on those tomorrow.
Giant, overnight guest, has a car but I don't bother asking him for anything other than sex.
