Yeah, that fact alone is terrifying too. lol
I dunno, I find it kind of comforting that a wind in the range of ~150 mph can make a 747 bounce a bit (showing that the lift force on the wings is not much less than the downward force due to gravity). Given that a 747 will normally fly at 500-550 mph, that leaves a lot of safety margin before the plane falls out of the sky.
Obviously it's a good reminder to tether planes that are grounded in hurricanes so that they don't get damaged, though.
