for DD's peanut challenge. 3 nights. We're sharing the room with a 12-ish year old who is here on her own watching wholly inappropriate television. The food is that same ish you saw last time I posted from a hospital (the bologna with broccoli in it *gag*) so we're living off smuggled in cookies and potato chips tonight.

I hope the challenge is met and passed by your DD. Too bad seesalltheevil didn't happen today. Maybe I could pull one of my AE's out for fun if I wasn't so busy at work today. Hope the food you get smuggled in is good. Can you not just have your DH bring food to you, at least?

summer have that fast driver go get you some Chipotle.
GL! How does the process go for your DD, btw? We just did this at my DD's allergist office (might have had some mild reaction after the initial dose so that was it and we were in and out within an hour). Will your DD be checked for delayed reactions over the 3 days?
They do 7 increasing doses (with placebo mixed in) everyday from 9am-2pm for 2 days. I'm not sure what we do the third. Hopefully that morning we just bounce the eff out.
I'm going to ask tomorrow if there is a room with a smaller child, though not sure if that is better or worse. We pay up in insurance for private rooms so I'm salty that this is even a thing.

Oh wow, I didn't realize food challenges can be so involved. I'm begging for one for my DS, but the dr. is making us wait until he's 4, even though all his tests have come back negative and he's never had a reaction She didn't mention anything about a hospital stay, so I'm assuming it's not that intense for a non-life threatening allergen like dairy and eggs.

Poor summer & family! Hope your lo is not allergic to peanuts. Good luck!
My ds had his food challenge for eggs yesterday, only 6 hrs in the hospital. He is no longer avoiding eggs! Yay! We won't be doing a peanut challenge but we are doing a tree nut challenge next.
