I quit working at 36 weeks because I hated everything, everyone and I ached everywhere. Went to 41+ weeks both pregnancies. I was basically a big beachball of rage for much of 3rd tri
I was doing great until about 36 weeks. Then I suddenly got super tired and was over the swelling, the weight and wearing the same clothes over and over.
This wasn't exactly uplifting news but at least I am not alone. Does this magically feel better after I give birth or do I just forget about it since I will have new things to worry about?

It happened right around where you are for me. Exhaustion was my biggest issue, it felt like the first tri again. I can't imagine doing it in this heat

It will go away. Well, except for being tired obviously.
With my last pregnancy, I had to start going to physical therapy weekly at some point in third tri due to my muscles extending too much and destabilizing my pelvis (or something like that, I'm very foggy on all the details at this point because evolution makes it a point to encourage a woman blocking the less pleasant aspects of pregnancy). I wasn't allowed to run anymore at that point, which kind of sucked, but the PT included a nice massage every week, covered by my insurance, so it wasn't a total loss.
Besides that, I felt okay until the end when I was induced at 40 w, 1d.
With DD, I worked until the day before I went into labor at 38w, 3d and was still okay going up and down subway stairs, etc. I was a little swollen, but going to the pool regularly helped with that.

The first time I sat down to pee after having my baby, it was amazing. I could bend over and wipe and everything and there was no giant basketball there. It obviously was not right back to normal right away but it was definitely a welcome relief from that never ending full feeling of the past months. I know the swelling can take days to even weeks to completely go away after birth but I think you should definitely feel some relief pretty quick. Hang in there.

Obviously it didn't go right back to pre-pregnancy, but I felt a lot better in most regards immediately. I remember laying in bed several hours after giving birth and realizing I didn't have heartburn for the first time in months.
I felt so much better right after I gave birth. I agree with mannah, that first pee is amazing. It was the first time in months that I felt like I didn't have to go to the bathroom even though I had just gone. I did swell after delivery but it went away within a week or two. And even though I wasn't getting much sleep with DD, it was a better, deeper sleep than when I was pregnant so that was really nice. Hang in there!
Right around 34 or 35 weeks. I was just dragging every day.
However, since being on maternity leave starting at 36 weeks I've been feeling sooooo much better. I'm still sleeping like crap and have horrible heartburn. But my swelling has gone down and my energy level is much better since not going to work.
That is so nice that you could start leave so early. I am jealous! I might see if I can start working from home sooner than later.
Yeah, around 36 weeks I started not giving a fuck about anything, especially work. I started my leave early at 39 weeks. There is no way in hell I could stand to go in another week. Stupid bosses wouldn't let me work from home either. I cant believe I still managed to drag myself in every day. If you can start that early, I'd do it asap.

I actually did feel much better after delivery. I mean, other stuff hurt, but a lot of the pg issues went away. I could finally eat food and enjoy it! That was the best thing for me, I had a lot of food and nausea issues my entire pregnancy. The recovery wasn't that bad actually, the first 2 weeks were rough but it got better pretty fast after that.
Now breastfeeding, that's been a whole new circle of hell for me. Sigh. I feel like this is the year of misery that won't end. But my DD is pretty cute, so I guess it was worth it. Maybe.
So I should not plan on hosting TG at 35 weeks and then extended family Christmas (60 people)the next weekend? I'm scared now. I feel for you preppy! I hope things improve or you are holding your sweet girl soon.
I hosted TG at only 24 weeks and it was pretty hard. My feet swelled up from standing so much, I had a hard time concentrating so stuff got burned, it sucked. At 35 weeks I would certainly let someone else host both gatherings. Or at least turn then into potlucks, where you only make the main dish and everyone else brings a side.

First time I was achy at stating around 33/34 weeks but I still wasn't over being pregnant/ready to have him at 37 weeks when they took him out. I did feel magically better afterward- no heartburn, my undercarriage didn't ache (CS), I could pee! And in normal increments! This time I have been over being pregnant for a couple of weeks now- so since 30/31- weeks. It's also summer vs winter this time and I have a toddler, those might both contribute to me being more over it.
