I am 35+1 today and feel like I have gone from keeping it together to completely over it in the past week. I had shingles, then I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this past weekend, and I am sure those factors didn't help. But I am at the point where I have swollen feet, I am uncomfortable, its hot as hell, I can't breathe, I can't sleep at night, but could fall asleep during the day, and OMG the acid reflux. I also feel like a whale.
Will it be this way for the next +/- 5 weeks? Any tips to make it better?
I'm 35 weeks and it has been like this for like 5 weeks. It is baby #2 and I've had a lot of discomfort since my fall, so that makes it worse. Last time I felt pretty great until right before I delivered, so like 37 weeks. In my experience, once things go downhill they stay that way until you deliver. I'm sorry!

Right around 34 or 35 weeks. I was just dragging every day.
However, since being on maternity leave starting at 36 weeks I've been feeling sooooo much better. I'm still sleeping like crap and have horrible heartburn. But my swelling has gone down and my energy level is much better since not going to work.
So I should not plan on hosting TG at 35 weeks and then extended family Christmas (60 people)the next weekend? I'm scared now. I feel for you preppy! I hope things improve or you are holding your sweet girl soon.

That is so nice that you could start leave so early. I am jealous! I might see if I can start working from home sooner than later.

I would give a hard no on TG and 60 ppl at 35 weeks.

I felt great until I went into labor at 39w3d. I appear to be in the minority, though. I think I would have been ok hosting TG and Christmas with our families but I know they and my H would have handled a lot of it and encouraged me to sit and rest a lot.
I was delusional and thought it wouldn't be like this until 38 weeks
I thought so too, LOL. I had planned to work up until my due date. At around 30 weeks, I was talking to my boss about moving up my leave. Things got better once I was off work and basically slept, ate, and watched TV all day, every day.

Physically, I felt pretty great until I was induced at 41w3d. I had a few days of bad heartburn at around 36 weeks, but otherwise I was fairly comfortable. I rode the bus for an hour each way to and from work up until my due date and I could have done that until the end if work didn't force me out after my due date. I actually hated lounging around at home while overdue because I needed to do things to distract me, so I recommend (if at all possible) keeping yourself distracted with whatever physical activity you can muster (for me, that was walking 2 miles to Dunkin' Donuts for coffee every day lol).
Mentally? Different story. I don't like pregnancy so it especially was hard being pregnant at the end, especially when she just wouldn't budge at all (zero progress when I went in for the induction).

I always marvel that I was choreographing a show that summer, and was literally doing high kicks until 36 weeks. Once I hit 36+ weeks, I wanted to kill everyone, and wanted her OUT.

Well, I based it off the fact that my two previous pregnancies only lasted till 37w and 37w4d and my commute is by train and very out of the way from the hospital I'm delivering at. But here I am at 38w tomorrow still pregnant with #3. Sometimes I feel slightly guilty that I'm not still working, but the extra time off has been really nice.
I felt good my entire first pregnancy, good thing because he was 11 days late.
My second pregnancy I was exhausted the entire time. That baby was only 9 days late. But I swear to God, as soon as that little parasite was out of me I felt so much better. I had a ton more energy and felt so much better. Even with a toddler and a newborn and no sleep, I felt like a million bucks.
I lasted until about 36/37 weeks in terms of general discomfort. I had DD in January and the cold weather really helped me last a while. My feet were so swollen though and when I wore ballet flats they like, spilled over the edges and hurt, or I wore my Ugg boots and they hurt because of all the relxin in my system that I needed support. I think it was around 38 weeks when she dropped a bit and basically made it so I couldn't pass gas so it all just built up. OMG that was almost as bad as labor.
