unfriend. I've decided it's not worth it to stay fake friends online if we aren't friends in real life. It's hard and I worried about it being awkward and then I realized I didn't care anymore.
I had to do the same thing recently. I unfriended. We were friends for over 8 years. My thinking was she was a shitty friend, and there was a reason we had a falling out, and the ball was in her court to actually make a move, but she didn't put in any effort as usual, so nope. Not that I think she cares or not, but nope you don't get free access to my life any more.

This is exactly why I don't think twice about deleting people from FB. Why should you have any access to know what's going on with me if we had a falling out?! Nope. No tolerance for those people.
There's this friend I had. Our friendship recently ended due to various reasons, the ball is basically in her court and she has taken about a week now and ostriched herself and is in avoidance mode.
I am not sure whether to unfriend her on fb or not. I am inclined to, but somehow, it feels really hard to.
ETA: Don't know if it makes a difference, but she is a local/RL friend.
In those cases, I usually move them to the "acquaintance" category which FB automatically limits what you see and what they see to only major milestone/life events. Its a good inbetween stage until you feel ready (AND btw, I sympathize with that odd indecision feeling)
