I dont remember labour day sales but i assume once all the kids are back, the next sales will start. I dont expect winter clothes to be on sale until closer to december.
I don't know but I hope there are some. I want to order DD a snow suit from Joe Fresh but I am waiting a bit to see if they will have a sale. Same thing with some boots for her from Gap.
we just got a OUAC this year. Our options in town are CP, Carters, ON, H&M, Gymboree (also newer), Sears and OUAC. I wish I had that many options for decent clothes for me. No Gap or The Bay in town.

Do people find good things at The Bay? I've gone in a few times but generally get overwhelmed in department stores. I've juat discovered how to get things for cheap at Gymboree and I'm excited. I need them. To start emailing me the coupons, though. I think there is a problem with how my account is set up in their system.

ebates.ca has triple cash back from some places: Carters, Old Navy, Gap
Honestly, I just mostly shop at OUAC. DS likes the weirdest things, and I can't always anticipate what he'll want (right now, he's obsessed with the one fleece sweatshirt he got in a bag of hand-me-downs). DD has a LOT of clothes. Grandma likes to shop for her.
All I know is that Halloween stuff is out and I bought my kids Joe Fresh snow suits today.
It is AUGUST.

have you bought their snow suits before? i haven't but i worry that they'll be typical joe fresh and just look like shit fter a few months. are they really warm? the price is attractive, but i worry about the quality.
Last year we bought DD one and it was great. BUT (this is a big but), she was only a few months old (like 8 months?) so really, she wore it IN the snow all of maybe 3-4 times...I don't feel like that is a true test of a snow suit.
The reason I am willing to buy there again this year is because, again, she still little. The pants I got her had additional padding on the knees, which I really liked, and the boots were rated for -20. Still, she isn't in DC yet, so I can control how long she is outside for. And with two so close together I can't imagine I will be galavanting in the snow with both of them for hours on end. The pants and jacket I got her seem warm, as does the suit I got DS.
If she were school aged I would probably just go to Costco and get her suit there...that's what SIL does and they are awesome. I will add that overall I go for price over quality for kids clothes at this point since nothing lasts them very long anyways because they grow out of it and I can't be bothered to buy expensive and try to recoup money selling it again. So I buy a lot of Joe Fresh and Walmart and the like...that probably says a lot, lol!

I have gotten some cute things at the Bay. We don't have a lot of clothing stores here so I am always checking out the Bay. Never pay full price there. If it's not on sale go back in a week or two and it will be on sale. I have gotten some cute little boys clothes there for like $4.00 a shirt off of the clearance rack.
@booby - I bought a Joe Fresh snow suit for DD two winters ago and it worked out really well. We leave it exclusively at daycare. The first year she had it at daycare, they did not go outside very much at all. It was that really horribly cold winter and they keep them inside when it was too cold. She wasn't even two years old. Last winter she just under 3 years old in the winter and they went outside much more. Lots of snow but a milder winter. The snow suit held up really well. So we were able to get 2 winters out of it which I think is awesome. It's still in really good shape so once they start collecting for Coats for Kids, I'm going to make sure to donate it.
qcinoct - it's nothing revolutionary or anything. I had avoided gymboree because their regular prices are just so expensive. Unlike many of my April 2012 counterparts, I am no fashionista but DD is really enjoying dresses and being girly so I guess I should go with it. They always post the newest styles that are out and I might find some cute things, but unless I need it right away for a special occasion, I wait for the sales and there is still a lot left. I would love to buy everything I need at once but it's more cost effective to buy a few pieces when they have a mega sale (everything $12.99 or under) and also get Gymbucks with it. Then I wait until you can use Gymbucks and buy the other few things I want. Last time they had Gymbucks, they also had a pretty good storewide sale with a certain percentage off that you could stack. The sales lady told me they don't normally let you stack but from what I've been hearing, J&J and Gymbo aren't doing that well in sales and I think they are trying to drum up more business that way. Last sale I got dresses for DD that were regularly $30+ dollars for around $11-$12 dollars. She pretty much only wants to wear the same 4-5 dresses any way so I bought a few at Gap the other day and will get a few a Gymbo, Joe Fresh and Old Navy and then just let her rotate those. Also, Gymboree sends out coupons by email, which I haven't gotten yet. I had heard all the Americans talking about getting a 20% off coupon by email and I just assumed it didn't apply to Canadians. I asked when I was in last week and they lady said yes they should have sent one out since I have a card and just gave me the discount. I need to contact customer service to find out why I'm not getting them e-mailed to me.
Essentially, they really DO discount the really nice things during those $12.99-$16.99 and under sales. I just didn't think it was true. Take advantage of gymbucks (and any sales you can stack) and make sure you get e-mails.

Awesome! I'll have to check it out. The Bay overwhelms me. Sears not so much. But I should check out Sears again. Another place to never pay full price.
