If it needs to go into the oven it should be cast iron, I think, and not have any rubber on it at all. If you have a pot that matches this I would use it.
If it's not going in the oven, a big soup pot will work, and then you put foil on top to help seal. (I'm not a genius, that's from here: www.thekitchn.com/-good-questions-280-155329) My husband is a big cook and he will do this if he doesn't want to deal w the dutch oven.
