I love being barefoot. We don't do shoes in the house here, and I don't wear them in my backyard. The front yard is full of prickly pine needles so shoes are required.
As a kid a was barefoot all summer long. I lived in a tiny town. Barefoot to the park, barefoot to the corner (only) store, barefoot everywhere. I don't remember owning sandals until I was a teenager.
I hate being barefoot even inside. On grass I can tolerate being barefoot, but even then my feet feel super dirty afterwards.
The time my flip flop broke on Christopher Street was perhaps the most traumatic experience of my life. There's no way to get out of that situation without touching the ground. I'd lick the floor of the D train before I'd choose to walk barefoot on Christopher St.

gummybear I did the same! Houston, SLC, Denver.. every city I have lived in, I have ended up walking home drunk without shoes and oh man. Sometimes the next morning I had a moment of "where the fuck is this dry blood from?" I feel better knowing it's happened to someone else.
I have always loved barefeet, and with my studio requiring me to be barefoot I almost never wear shoes. I always have them in my car but only wear them if I have to (in a store.)
Short, plush green grass in a tropical location where it feels amazing between my toes? Yes, please! (Hotel grounds near the pool, edge of beach, etc.)

I am barefoot 90% of the time. The only time I have shoes is to walk in to an establishment like a restaurant or grocery store. I walk to work with my flip flops on and kick them off as soon as I sit down and I don't put them on until I it's time to go home. I will get in to a car and kick my shoes off. As a matter of fact my favorite pair of flip flops are in the back of my friend's car from last week when we hung out. My daughters give 0 fucks about shoes either. My H is the only one who has them on constantly. Fuck that noise.
I insisted we get some grass in our backyard so I could frolic in it. I rarely "frolic" but I do enjoy being barefoot.
The other day, though, I went out on our patio barefoot and stepped on a thorny branch I had forgotten I cut down and just...left there, apparently. I had to pull the thorns out of my foot
i am not liking this post because you hurt yourself, but I like that you like being barefoot on grass. I love frolicking in the grass too.

Here in the city, hell to the no. I don't even go out in the stairwell of my building without at least slippers or socks on.
At my parents house in the summer, I'm essentially barefoot the entire time. I was also barefoot most of my childhood, which is why the callouses on my feet are heinous and I can step on tiny shards of glass or pins without feeling it (this has happened).
Now see? that's gross never ever go bare foot in to a public bathroom. That is why I keep these in my bag 24/7 just in case I forget my shoes. (I have been known to do so in several occosions)
In appropriate places, yes, I like being barefoot. At home, sometimes directly outside our house. At the beach while ON the beach, yes. But walking too and from? No.
Team barefoot unless it's hot or a public bathroom/changing room! I hate shoes, I hate socks more. Probably 90% of the reason I returned to Florida after going away to college lol.
Outside...not so much. Our driveway is terrible, walking on it barefoot hurts. It's like a giant cheese grater, so if any of the kids fall down, it's an automatic bloody knee.
Life of a renter. I so wish we could get it fixed but the landlord is not into dropping the cash.
Inside I'm usually barefoot and I prefer to drive with no shoes on.
I don't do barefoot outside unless I'm at the beach. There are too many nasty things on the ground for me to be comfortable walking on them. Inside, yes - I even hate wearing socks inside. My feet need to breathe!
I mean, I like being barefoot, I guess. I'll take the trash out barefoot or walk out to the garage or something. I don't go on walks around the neighborhood without shoes. Partly because it hurts and partly because my feet would be gross.

I don't usually because I hate feeling like my feet are even a little bit dirty. But I also hate wearing socks and shoes. Comfort wise, I would be content to live in flip flops.
