I had it when I was pg with DD. I didn't know this was something I should be worried about. FWIW I always leave mine on until I can just peel them off.
The place I go to files down the old gel polish until there is only a little of the base coat left. Then they apply more base coat and the new polish over over the top. There isn't a removal process that I would be concerned about.
I thought the removal process was to soak the nails in a super strong acetone solution wrapped in foil for like 15 minutes? This is where I confess that I've only had them done once and tried removing them at home to save $5 or whatever and my nails were wrecked for months.

Well, I won't get them when not pregnant (because of the UV), so no, I wouldn't while pregnant either. But I doubt there is a possible harm to the baby, so if you like it, get it.
I got them done every week-2 weeks while pg and they removed them by filing off the top, then soaking my tips in acetone for a few min, then scraping off the rest. I never thought to be concerned or mention it to my OB?
Same here. The first time I nursed in public with DS was at the nail salon when he was 10 days old. Hmm maybe I should post that in the next flammables thread?
I got one while pg. The only reason I didn't get more than one was because my nails grew so fast during pregnancy that the mani looked rough after just a few days.
