Good thing that you got out of there! And why doesn't she want her to teach vocabulary and spelling? Does she only want her to focus on comprehension and fluency?
I quote: "Because her friend who is a 6th grade (moved up from 4th who btw has CRAP test scores) told her that it wasn't important and she wasn't going to teach it because it takes up too much time." So now every grade level has be aligned to that shit. Because it would look "bad" if the students "are forced" to do it in 5th grade but not in 6th grade.
What a disaster of an educator she is. I'm so glad you've landed in a better position, but so mad you were put through what you were by her. I hope you have an awesome school year!
Yikes. But I know that terminating someone, especially if they had tenure (if she did in her role before admin), is so difficult and requires a ton of documentation PLUS giving ample opportunity to improve. Sounds like they are taking those steps now to document in case they want to terminate...
Slapping happens. Happened to one of my colleagues today (another asst principal). The kid had special needs and my colleague was bending down to talk to him....
I'd never suspend someone for saying they hated a teacher! I've been told "I hate you" before and I just tell the kid that I like them... Ha. I try to take the learning approach anyhow.
Well, she's getting no more than she deserves. Thanks for the update! I'm so happy that you ended up in a better position with better pay! I still owe you a PM.
It's sad how long it sounds like it takes to remove someone. I mean, she's not only a detriment to the school, but also to the students by not educating appropriately. I hope she's fired.
