I'm right at the end of The Man With A Load of Mischief by Martha Grimes. It's a gentle mystery and I find parts of it LOL funny. The humor is very subtle but if you like dry British wit, this book would be up your alley.
QOTW: I use a daily calendar on my desk to stash all of my paper bills or other notices so that I get to things on time. For example, if a bill is due on 9/24 and I don't use automatic bank withdrawals for payment, I will place the bill on the 9/17 page to make sure I mail payment on time. Otherwise everything is recorded on my phone calendar.
The Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny, the latest in her Chief Inspector Gamache series, which is excellent so far. It hasn't been great week, but having a really good book helps.
QOTW: I have a paper wall calendar, but I don't keep track of things on it except for my dog's flea and heart worm meds. We use an online calendar that we can both access anywhere to keep track of everything else.
I'm between books at the moment. I may start A Breath of Snow and Ashes next. I gave up on the Outlander series after Fiery Cross came out but I got the first 7 books on Kindle for just a few dollars recently.
I had an Audible credit so I started listening to Felicia Day's memoir "You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)." It's really funny so far. I made the mistake of listening to it at the gym while weight lifting. Laughter + bench presses = dangerous
QOTW: We usually have a calendar hanging up somewhere in the house but we rarely writeon it. All my work stuff is on an Outlook calendar and I add the rare things I need to remember outside of work as well
I'm reading Michelle Moran's Madame Tussaud and really enjoying it.
Also listening to Stephen King's Wind in the Keyhole; good so far but I'm not very far into it.
QOTW: I have hanging wall calendars at my home and office but I use them more to look at upcoming dates than for any sort of organization. I rarely write anything on them.

I haven't read this week. I have The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson available. I'm leaning towards I'll Give You the Sun.
QOTW: I use a paper planner at work, but Google Calendar for home/family stuff.
I started The Art Forger (B.A. Sapiro) this week. A third of the way through and I like it. I have enjoyed using my iPad to look at the art that is mentioned throughout and to learn a bit about the artists.
QOTW: I have a pretty wall calendar for the pictures. I use outlook at work for work (and some personal) stuff, it is shared with my office and we are encouraged to use it. I use my phone for more personal stuff. I left a paper planner kicking and screaming a few years ago, but I have adapted.

Last week I watched The White Queen series on Amazon Prime, so then I had to reread The White Queen and The Red Queen. Now I'm reading The White Princess. These are all books involving the English royalty from the "war of the roses" era by Phillipa Gregory. I do enjoy them. I like historical fiction and I like that they are written from the POV of the female characters, so even if they aren't the most accurate, they tend to bring the history to life more for me.
QOTW: I keep a paper calendar about my desk at work. I don't write everything on it, but I do put more important stuff that I want to keep in mind.

I was away this weekend celebrating my birthday and didn't get any reading done, though I indulged with 5 new books for later. As a result, I'm still reading The Coronation. I had wanted to finish it by the end of August, but that's probably not going to happen unless I do nothing but read tonight and tomorrow.
QOTW: I use only a paper day planner. I just ordered my 2016 planner. I tried using computer calendars, but even at work I found them unnecessarily complicated. And because I worked for attorneys and they kept their own paper calendars (necessary in part due to computers/phones/etc being banned from courtrooms), it was a hassle to keep them current. It was much easier to use paper for everyone and a master one for me as their secretary. I find I remember stuff better if I write it down, even if I never look at the list again, so paper is the way to go for me.
