I'm generally excited about this but am also slightly terrified. I think this is normal? This is the 3rd house we've bought, but the first time I really feel like an adult about it and grasp what a big deal it is. This is also the first time we've owned a house at the same time we're buying one.
Pros of new house - More square footage and bedrooms Amazing lot - perfect size and is completely level (that does not happen here, lol) Gorgeous kitchen with a built-in wine fridge Good, established neighborhood with a pool Best schools in my city all the way from k-12 Huge (like 900 SF) screened in back porch Great location that's close to work, daycare, places we like Low interest rate environment - we're going to move in the next ~3 years anyway, so might as well take advantage of rates
Cons - Floor plan not as open as we generally prefer No true bonus room - we could use a bedroom as a small bonus or knock down a wall to create one. Master bath needs a reno stat, though we will wait until spring when my bonus comes Leaving our current house. We don't love it, but it's been our home for 5 years. Have to figure out a new set up for the dog since he's pee incontinent and doesn't like G. This was an issue in our current house, though. Moving
We countered back this am and I think I just have cold feet. Deep breaths. I just went back through zillow and had to restrain myself from sending H about 5 other listings that we might should consider.
If anyone wants to a pm of the listing, let me know.

Sounds like your pros outweight the cons. As they say, no house is truly perfect. Good Luck! It' so nerve racking but satisfying when it's all said and done!
ETA: I'd love to see the listing if you like to share. I love houses.
Big purchases are scary! Are you going to sell your current house or keep it to rent out?
Sell! I hope. We met with a great realtor this am. That price point is moving well in our area so fingers crossed. It will probably be listed within 2 weeks.

We just closed on a new house today. I understand the hesitation. In our case there are a couple of things I am concerned about short term (one being bedroom layout) but in the long run I think we are going to love it.
I think your pros outweigh the cons. I love looking at listings if you want to send it along.

I'd love to see! We are also casually looking right now and hoping to move in the next 1-2 years. I'm freaked by the idea of owning two homes at a time and we might need to be looking/selling at the same time.
It sounds like the Pros outweigh the Cons in this case. Good luck!
Ditto this except Sunday. It's normal to be nervous. It definitely sounds like the pros outweigh the cons. Good luck!
How are you doing with the move? Going a bit nuts?
I have the nervous poops today if that's any indication. It's mostly due to my landlords being grade a douche canoes though. I just keep thinking that in 2 days we'll be finished with them.
Sounds normal to me. I was second guessing it when we bought this house but I love it. And there are definitely cons associated with it (aluminum siding, needed to redo a few rooms, etc). Good luck!
